should i harvest now or wait a bit longer?

hi guys this is the oldest plant of 3, from my first outdoor grow.

it was a random strain from a mixed bag from rhino seeds. (British outdoor mix)

do you think i should harvest now or wait a little longer?

also would you reccommend washing the plant before putting up to dry?

there are some brown areas on the plant so im thinking the wash could get rid of this.

They look nice, but each strain has a different flowering time. To really "know" when to harvest you will need to get
a magnification device in order to view when the trichome color changes...

fell for the defoil bit ? sorry

I'd wait a bit but it is close
lol I thought the same thing when I saw that plant, what happened to the fan leafs? That's gonna make it take an extra couple weeks to finish cause the fan leafs have a lot of nutrients stored in them and also act as solar panels to help the plant grow/flower.

i have a jewllers loupe 30x & 60x but find it hard to test the tric development, on the sugar leaves on bud there are amber and cloudy trics, but i heard you shouldn't judge the trics on the leaves but on the calyxes instead? Is this true?

That's a new on me - testing the trichomes in different areas???? Fuck N "A" I HOPE THAT AIN'T RIGHT...

The plant will get you high now if you're seeing some cloudy trichomes.... Waiting longer will make it more potent....

14 years and I'm still learning shit all the time... Keep the growing going!

Sorry i didn't mean to claim anything, I've edited that post now.

I read somewhere on here that you should check the trichomes on different parts of the plants to get an overall idea of plants develpment?

I'm new to this not claiming that I know anything :)

I just cut a couple popcorn buds from the lowest part of the plant, really desperate for a smoke.

After looking at them through the loupe I think there are about 50/50 clear/cloudy trics and a couple brown/red ones haha which means it can go for a bit longer :)

Yes, you should always judge by calyx's trichomes. I've had amber trichs on a plants sugar leaves for almost a month before the calyx's trichs turned cloudy.

thanks everyone

ive come to the decision to leave her be for a little while longer. hopefully with a little more time these buds will puff out.

ooowee its smells so goood :D

considering its not fully matured yet, fingers crossed im onto a winner

I was told to check the color on the calyx and not the sugar leaves-was told the sugar leaves mature faster than the calyx so may still be taking too early

also how much longer?
What are the breeder recommendations for this strain if you know? And how long is she flowering? What is the strain and have you checked your trichs? Also plants have a large enough harvest window depending on the effect you want..
You could safely harvest this now and get a buzz I am sure but without more info on what the genetics are its hard to answer..
