Should I Be Getting A Better Yield?

I am flowering in a 4x4 tent with a 400 watt hps and a 400 watt mh and I am using Promix soil and bat guano in 3 gallon bags and I am getting about 6-8 oz. Oh yeah the stain I am told is Alaskan Thunder Fuck and it flowers in 45 days but thats just what the dude I got the clone from said. I usually have 10 and 16 plants at a time. The less plants the bigger I have been going. please give me any advise you can on increasing my yield if you think this is a small yield.

You should be doing a lot better than that. Try reducing the number of plants to 6 max and maybe only four and I bet your yield will improve. that may seem counter intuitive but I think you will have better luck with 4 than with 8 or 16. that's a ridiculous number for that size of a tent even if you are lollipopping them in a sog

more time in veg, less plants more yield. my mate does 18 at a time under a 400w , i only like to keep maybe 3 max under a 600w..

The light is being pushed pretty hard too but the crowding? That's got to be causing all kinds of issues!! Someone do the math 4 sq. ft. / 16 =?/sq. in. per plant................pretty tight quarters there mate. Forkin bloooody ell!!

Yeah I do lollipop and fim a week or so before flowering. I guess because of the thought of sog helping yield more I have always kinda thought more smaller plants would yield better. Now that i think about it though I have only 10 plants now and they are at 42 days and they are almost twice the size of my usual grow, they look to maybe be giving me a bit more but its hard to say just by looking at it. If I were to go to 4 or 6 plants how should I do it just let them go, top, scrog, or should it be better either way? thank for the opinion

You should be getting at least a lb from your 800watts. You may need to veg longer because of the flowering time.

I guess I'm in the minority but I think getting 6-8 oz from 16 sq ft is pretty good. If you topped to get 6-8 colas, then topped each of those to get 6-8 more on each, you'd have a bush from just one plant - but all your eggs would be in one basket so to speak. Just curious, are you in Alaska? I would LOVE to get my hands on some MTF clones!!

Sorry not in alaska. I have changed everything up a bit and got 14 lollipopped and fimmed girls flowering now like I usually would but I have 4 yumbolt clones vegging in 10 gallon totes and they are looking awesome. They are tight branchy bushes that look like they would be awesome for scrog. they got 4 weeks left of vegging maybe 5 if need be then I will decide how to flower. I was worried about not getting what i get now with less plants but these are gonna atleast give me my 6-8.
