hey does anyone have any info apart from what is on the site about short-stuff-seeds-onyx

http://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/short-stuff-seeds-onyx/prod_1376.html

Sex : Regular
Type : Indica, Sativa, Runderalis, Indica / Sativa Flowering : Autoflowering Genetics : Auto flowering indica/sativa hybrid Flowering Time : Medium, Long Outdoor Harvest : Height : Medium THC Level : Very High Characteristics : high as a kite Short Stuff Seeds Onyx is another special cross from breeder 'STITCH' who tells us About the Onyx plant "well this is a secret stabilized plant which includes AK47 x White russian and diesel, but many more...This plant is quite tall, between 50 to 90cm tall, very branchy, fruity taste, very good producer...This strain is going to be a legend and could be the most worked auto strain ever, result of the biggest selection from crosses we have ever done!"

sounds good but is it just the breeder talking his strain up

Short Stuff ONYX .....tried 2 different orders of 10 seeds each. Dismal waste of time. I ended up with 1 plant about 6" tall with a main cola....perhaps 2 grams ....all others simply died after sprouting ....turned yellow and fell over. I used different soil mixes to no avail....I had just grown lowryder 2 successfully but the ONYX were a waste of money.
Don't waste your time on this shit......poor poor poor.......Short Stuff has a very big quality problem.....also they won't answer emails for help....I grow bonzai trees so I'm not a newby at plant propagation....but ONYX suck.
I will not grow any short stuff product from now on....Lowryder strains seem to be a safer bet.

Yeah, onyx has been out long enough for me to order, make a grow attempt, have 1 seedling out of 10 seeds, replaced with another round of 10 seeds that also FAILED......My one onyx plant has just been harvested....perhaps 1.5 grams.....smells good but simply a pitiful yeild out of a highly touted strain..... as I said, onyx is simply a profit to someone...mostly short stuff.... certqainly not ME.... being a medical user, I simply want enough for myself..... I do have some more lowryders from an accidental breeding that are going quite well again.....healthy and green......same as before... that kinda rules out a problem I may have caused since the onyx was in between my lr grows....
Do yourself a favor....try an auto that isn't onyx....personally I am staying away from short stuff altogether !!!!

wow I've read many good things about onyx and other short stuff seeds. I'm waiting on my onyx and mi1 and looking forward to it. i wouldn't call it a filler I'd call short stuff an auto flowering company with fair prices. lowlife and lowryder prices go up every month it seems like. do some googling and I'm sure you will see some great results. I guess it depends on if you know how to grow or not. the longer flowering time doesn't make it not worth it. all it does is make for a better yeild. and if you've grown any auto before you'll know that they need more time than the descriptions say they do anyway.

Actually Short stuff makes some pretty good strains.
Checkout his russian focket fuel (RRF) or himalayan blue deisel (HBD) grows around the net and you will quickly see that his strains are high quality (and can easily compete with JD's LLs).
I dunno what happened with your onyx plants..

If you're hellbent on not getting short stuff you can also checkout MDanzig seeds he has a new AF out called Sour 60 that's supposed to be a real good strain (DP Master kush/Diesel Ryder/DJ's Blueberry/BOG's SourBubble!!!! cross) that finishes in 60 days from seed (under hps).

I have grown many Short Stuff strains. Himayla blue disel in Coco was some of the best pot ive ever smoked. RRF is good aswell, but the yield is not as glorious as advertised. I can say from growing Onyx, that IF you get the right pheno(Stems tend to be a greater shade of purple) with sativa-like leaves, it can reach a height of 26inches in a 2gallon pot, and yield around 37 grams of dried cured buds per plant. that was my best result.

from a 10 pack, striaght into 2gallon pots of Coco
6 females, 3 males, 1 premature death.

From the 6 girls,
2 Purple Stemmed phenos. 26 and 19 inches tall.
1 Avg automatic plant, 12 inches
3 midget bitches. 4,5,6 inches tall(it made a runt staircase in the growroom lol, and the pots were rotated equally so the result was not due to the physical distance from the light) avg 2-4gs dry.
They all took about 81 days from first cotelydon openage.

So. if you tend to get the purple stemmed pheno, i cant imagine how nice these would be in 5 gallon pots, i was stuck with 2 for space concerns.

However, for every plant that is not this pheno, you will be dissapointed.

Hit And Miss.

But most autos tend to be this way since every bit of stress they recieve cuts into your final yield.

I havent tried mi5, but the purpling looks really nice, anyone try these yet?

I ordered ShortStuff mix... apparently it has Onyx, Mi5, Rocket Fuel, Blue Himalayan and a few "experimentals".... will let you know how it turns out.

I've currently got another lowryder 2 grow with 5 girls. Just had to put'em in to fill a gap I'll have till my "regular" grow finishes. I am checking out several strains right now for my next auto project. Diesel kinda catches my eye as well as some of the lowlife strains. The Lowlife mix looks like it would be fun!
I had an accidental pollination of my first lowryder 2 grow and ended up with a bud with seeds...so I have several more lr2 seeds that I intend to stagger ....but I like to venture out just for the variation in flavors & highs. The one Onyx that did actually have a smokable 1.5 gram bud, turned out to be some stone-stagger-slide and pretty potent. The lowryder was a quicker buzz with a later kick back but that damn Onyx was a hammer.....really wish I could have grown it.

The vendor of the ss Onyx actaully sent a replacement 10 for the failed ones but still no luck.....That vendor will probably get my next auto order also.....soon.:weed:

sounds like they have brought the strain out too early and not bothered stabilizing it first

I've successfully grown MI5s. As a novice grower, they were actually easy plants, averaging between 16"-26" finished. They each yielded about an ounce dry each and were an excellent high.

I got a freebie fem onyx from attitude. Its 43inch's and no signs of flowering. How long does this thing take to flower? Wasn't expecting it to get this big.

I grew it last summer. I put themin the dirt outside, 9 out of 10 seeds grew. Had a few runts but a couple of 24 inch ones. Smelled nice when growing. Buds were awful loose. Smoked a joint, not much there for a high. Maybe I didn't get a good one and I will probably trythem again, someplace. More of a novelty. I have nothing against autoflowers, but have yet not been able to find a decent one in the buzzzz department.

Doesn't sound like you got an auto......imagine a freebie actually being what it's supposed to be. I order from several seedbanks and usually give freebies to friends.
I do a lot of autos and enjoy watching those little medicine plants grow.....

Yea something is not right. Its over 4ft now and still not showing signs of flower. Short stuff's website site say's onyx ranges from 20-36inches. Guess if I don't see some signs of flower soon i'll switch to 12/12 and hope for the best. Maybe the Great White root stimulant had something to do with the excessive growth.
