Short and bushy @ 4 weeks

2nd grow, my first in soil. Running Urban Poison right now. I keep reading that short and bushy is the key but can they get too bushy? Should I attempt to stretch them? I grew the same strain with dwc and they were nothing like these. Last pic is one grown in dwc1461811724690334808816.jpg 1461811792968-964727870.jpg 14618118536131824669339.jpg

They look good. Have you done any topping/fim? Supercrop? The plants look awesome if it were mine I would be training them beautiful ladies.

I've been fimming I believe. Pinching out the growth on tops to create 2. They are 4 weeks right now. I have another not in the pics that I started bending and tying down

I can use all the advice I can get. I'm still a rookie. I'm flowering my first grow right now and they weren't nearly this thick Soo I'm running blind! Lol

From all the pics I've seen online I haven't really seen any plants this thick. My concern is light penetration later on if they continue to grow like this. These plants are barely as tall as a water bottle

My Blue Dream were that way too but after I switched to flower they are stretching out nicely. The picture is when they were in veg still. 20160405_014357.jpg

When should I switch to bigger pots? Should I just transplant to 5 gallon?
Depends on your growing space and how tall you want it to be and how long you want to veg your plant. When you do transplant I would give it ten days or so before you put it into flower IMO.

Ya two 600 LED panels. 272+/- true watts each. So a little over 550 watts total. Im in 3 gallon smart pots for this grow. Only have a 5 foot tent so want to keep the plants under control for my space.
How do they compare to other lights other than the savings on the power bill? I'm currently using a 2'x4' t5 for veg @ 24/0 and a 250w hps for flower @ 12/12

Honestly I'm not quite sure when the best time to switch would be. I have unlimited space and just acquired 5 400w mh/hps but don't want to take up an entire room or wait all year to harvest either. If I can master cloning then I'll keep one back as a mother

I like them so far but I cant compare them to HPS because I have never grown with it. I have used CFLs and LED so far. This is week 3 of flower so far. 20160425_054419.jpg

They do say the bigger the plant the better the yield. Pretty much its all preference. I only vegged for 4 weeks but others do longer because they have the space to do so. Also depends on if you plan to do any advanced techniques with your grow.
