Shine for Hash?

Am I the only one who has thought of using shine to make hash?
I prefer with water and ice but it IS possible, right? With the same solvent method as lets say ether?
People have used some nasty stuff (Naphtha, Butane, Isopropyl Alcohol) but shine is much cleaner than any of those and can get VERY potent. 180 proof in some cases...
Thoughts?

I have heard of people making weed vodka, but i think it was for drinking rather then evaporating to get hash.

but wouldn't drinking weed vodka be like eating BHO?, which i doubt would have any effect.

The vodka weed is more commonly known as a tincture I think. Good for drops under the tongue as it's basically a concentrated amount depending on the ratio of vodka:weed. I understand that you use about an oz of ground marijuana matter (leaf, stem, bud) and about twice the volume in vodka. Mason jars are best. then you wait a while, drain, squeeze, chill, and enjoy thc anywhere in public

The stuff I'm talking about is basically what you would get if you boiled vodka or some "wash" in a distiller.
It's like uber strong vodka. And some not so good stuff that is actually fuel... But that can be "Cut" with experience or math.
Which makes Moonshine. Drinkable alcohol (Best to mix and not to drink straight). Also illegal to make if you do not have a permit depending on the laws where you are.
I've heard there are companies that make it, Called Everclear and Alcool and such. It's 100% alcohol or, 200 proof.
Though, I'm betting it can be used to make the "cleanest" solvent hash there is.
Other fuels I've heard of being used should never be injested in any manner, let alone smoked...

But if successful, gave me an idea for a big cycle.
Growing while using the CO2 coming from the fermentation chambers, filtering the spent grain/yeast CO2 generators for "wash", Using the wet grain as substrate for shrooms, distilling the wash for shine to make hash with the males, trimmings, and other left overs.

Could be especially useful if you're only growing for seeds. Great way to deliver CO2 to your plants and have some sticky personal.
Or if you're more of a beer fan, Same idea can help but no hash.

I've used everclear witrh great results so if your willing to give up some precious shine go for it. Just be careful while evaping and make sure you get all of it out and you'll have some very nice oil.

everclear is 190, you cant get 200, and def. dont want to consume it.

Tis precious indeed! Not only as something to drink but great cleaner, disinfectant, and fuel. Hell, Forget the hash and grow some great indoor with modified gennies out in the far boosh! After all, we should all reduce, reuse, recycle!

You have to heat up thc to make it psychoactive.

Otherwise you won't get "high" from ingesting it.

We usually do this naturally when we smoke it and hash.

When cooking with it to eat it, you have to heat it up somehow.

I didn't see you mention if you heated it up at any point in your run down, just wanted to give a heads up.

Holy Crap that's absolutely right! I totally forgot! lol

So I did a little digging and found out tinctures are probably a little more complicated than I thought but not by too much.

I found something very useful right here on the site. Which I cross verified with other sources. "THC Breakdown Temp" are the temperatures that have an effect on THC. I think the one we want is 50°C (122°F) - This is the temperature that activates THC.
So, I'd imagine that's why people use mason jars. Because the Vodka/weed solution must be heated. So then we can simmer the jars in hot water.
"The commonly accepted average core body temperature (taken internally) is 37.0 °C (98.6 °F).": This is hardly enough to get the effects if the tincture is not heated.

Let's amend the last process:

- Fill half the jar with dried and ground up marijuana matter.
- Fill the rest with Grain alcohol: Vodka, Rum, Gin (Anything 70%/140 Proof and up) Stir
- Boil some water but not too much so it flows into your jars
- Place open jar inside boiling water
- Place a thermometer in the jar, not the water (We don't want the alcohol to reach the same temp as the water)
- Keep jar at around 50°C (122°F) for about 3-5 mins (But not below 50°C/122°F)
- Remove from pot and seal
- Store in a dark cool place for a week
- Filter matter from tincture and enjoy

Or would it be best to heat the tincture once filtered? Does cooling THC after it's been heated remove it's psychoactive property?
Either way, it will cool down as no one person is going to drink it all in one shot... Or at least they SHOULDN'T...
