Shallow pot?

Hi all,

Since we are all in the same club. Have you guys have success with using shallow pots in cabinet grows? My current pot is a standard 5gal square pot, 12" tall. I have found a perfect container to make a pot out of from it measures (internal diameters) 6" high x 13.5" wide x 18.5" long = 1498 cubic inch = 6.48 gallons.

So the shallow pot actually has more volume. My question, how successful have you guys been using shallow vs standard size pots? do the roots spread out in shallow pot?

opps.. sorry my lady! so I looked over those links and the answer wasn't very definitive. I guess most people said that wide pots would work. But my question is posted in the steath/cab forum. Isn't growing in a cab much different than in a room? Cab growers have to deal with more factors..

i think for me when i make decisions ultimately i think no answers are ever definitive with growing or gardening.
so i like to hear to both or multiple sides.

i posted for you because its a pretty dead time on the forum right now so you maybe waiting a while I personally have never done stealth growing
what i can say is I would be reluctant to use a shallow pot for root bound issues solely

Stealth/Cab growers need the extra height. Space is always issue for cab/stealth growers. If a shallower pot can be as effective as a standard pot, than it would be logical to use that instead. I would sacrifice some yield for that extra 6 inches. ;-)

Can't hurt to try! We get stronger with every failure. :-)
