Redman,Just found this journal. Looks great were almost at the same place. So I'm going to keep a look in on you as well I've got 6 ak48s about 3 wks from starting seeds. I also had one with the same curled up root that turned out to be rather small so I just put him on his own in "dirt" sorry about using that word here among bubble heads but I need to make a 5 gallon bucket set up with bubbles etc...for the little bugger. I hope to start a journal soon but I seem to have a problem loading pics! Good luck I'm hoping for buds for new years !? ..ol hippy

So, with Thanksgiving coming up, I've been wondering what to do with the plants while I'm gone for 4 days. I have a friend who can probably come by once to raise up the lights. My plans were to be in the flower stage now, but with the amount of growth they will experience as soon as I go 12/12, I have delayed it until I return. I decided to FIM some of the plants, in an effort to restrict vertical growth for a few days. Hopefully this works. I will switch to flower on Sunday. I've started using Liquid Karma, and I am using about a 3/4 dose of nutrients. Ph at 6.0, Temp at 72, Water temp at 70. I removed the pump Sunday when I replenished the water.

If you have the vertical room you can always raise the lights a little now and stretch them out. It's called intentional stretch and can open the canopy a little. Top your res before you go and they will be fine when you return. Excellent plants you have there! That LK does stain the roots doesn't it. It's going to get very crowded, very quickly with that many fems in the tank.

I raised the lights 3 inches above the plants before I left for vacation, and had them raised once while I was gone. Wow, the growth was really incredible for 4 days. I switched over to 12/12 monday, and also switched to bloom nutes. I have added in additional lighting, I now have around 700 watts of cfls. 80% are 2700k, and 20% are 6500k. Temp is 78, ph is 6.0, humidity 60% and water temp is 68.

At this point you can reduce the humidity down to 50% or below but no hurry. Also you are going to get a big leaf drop as you go to 12/12. One way to combat that is to add a little more grow (N) to you bloom nute mix. Current thought is to help them through the transition by setting the N a little higher than the label indicates.

Thanks for the input. When I switched to the bloom nutes, I maintained a 25% ration of grow nutes as well. I will continue to give some grow throughout the grow as I've seen multiple grows where it was beneficial. It will be difficult to drop the humidity down much lower. Do you think that will be a problem? I know I don't want to deal with mold issues.

As long as you keep good air movement around the plants you should be fine. Air movement usually reduces humidity anyway.

IF you have a circulating oscilating fan, it will be OK.

Plants are growing crazy! Unfortunately 2 of my 6 fem seeds ended up being male. It may have been a blessing though, as it opens the tank up a lot removing them. They were the 2 tallest and bushiest plants. The 4 remaining are drinking around 1.5 gallons of water a day. PH is staying a steady 6.0, water temp 68, room temp 78.

Goes to show that the biggest and strongest are often male! Seems they have to race ahead of the girls to get their pollen ready. Drinking a lot is a great sign. Bet they stick to high heaven. Plants that are eating well always smell at their top level. You're right, six in a BP system is really tough and you might get as much production out of the remaining 4 then you would have with 6. Think it's a light penetration issue.

They are just trying to bolster the connection of the branch to the staulk to hold more bud. It happens often. Very good sign.

The girls are about to enter their 5th week of flowering, and are looking really nice. I will be adding Co2 starting this evening by using several yeast filled bottles. Hopefully this will help fill the buds out and make them nice and tight.

Water is being changed every 10 days or so, with a new dose of nutes added everytime. I'm tempted to raise the amount of nutes, but I hate to mess with success.
