lookin fine for 14 days. dont worry, they will start filling up real quick. no matter what, they always seem to start so for me. guess im impatient. btw, you stalks look incredibly healthy man, and huge!

can we get a comparison shot of the biggest stalk, at the bottom, compared to like a lighter(i know you got one) or something
You bet, I'll try to get one tomorrow, the only problem now is timing, I've got the lights set to be on from midnight to noon, to give me some time to work on them.

The biggest trunk I'll call it since it's so thick, is close to double the thickness of a lighter, it's huge. On the same plant there are three main branches that come from way down low, those should be three great colas. Funny though, those branches seem to be thicker near the top than the bottom.

It's strange how these plants have spread out at the tops giving more light to the middle of the whole bunch. I put some support (1x2's) in there to help stand the middle plant, it was leaning to the right so much it was snuffing out the plant on the right corner. Everything is a little messy in there since I've been having problems with them falling over, this should resolve that problem.

Thanks for the +rep man!

FryingPan, you're the man. I didn't mind reading that post at all. It had a lot of good info that I have been trying to find about Colorado for quite sometime. I'm moving there and right now, you're my best resource. Ok, so let me boil your post down so I don't take up too much of your time in YOUR post. The humidity problem isn't really a problem because in essence, we only need to veg for like 2-3 weeks anyway. The temps being lower with such a drastic change is due to the grow being in the garage w/ a lack of temp control, a problem I won't have because I will be in a cab inside the house. Does that pretty much boil it down? Ok, I have one more question for now. What is the usual pH of the water right out of the tap. I saw you said it was around 350ppm but that doesn't really give me a good idea of the pH. (Not that advanced I guess) Oh, and I found a great deal for you... CHECK IT OUT. Thanks again.
Hey rreign, yup, you've pretty well got the temp thing, I've got some work to do next summer. But if you can grow in your basement you should be good to go.

pH, now there's a funny question. I've tried to avoid that question for several reasons, the biggest being that I don't check it! I've avoided mentioning it because I know that for most people it is one of the most important tests they take. My water is right about 6 straight out of the tap, and it seems to be pretty well pegged at that level from all the minerals in it, it doesn't vary much if at all.

My first res change I had some problems trying to reach perfection, going up and down. I finally realized I was too high to be dealing with it :? (Saturday night about 9 pm) so I flushed everything out and just re-filled with straight water. The next morning I added nutes, checked the pH a couple of times, realized all was good and never looked back. I haven't checked the pH since, I've been blessed with what appears to be perfect water!

Hope this helps, don't be afraid to ask questions, it's a great way to learn and I really do like to help if I can.

Have a great Christmas!

Hello again FPF, plants are lookin great still green as hell, are you adding a little veg nutes to keep them so green? I'm so pissed out of 6 plants I have one female and one I'm still not sure of ( it almost got cut in half!taped it together now its catching up but may still sprout balls!) I did manage to cut 4 clones off of my female so they should be ready to go right to flower in a few wks! I've been smokin so much lately I don't seem to get high anymore maybe I need a wk to dry out !!I think my boys and I are heading up to Mammoth next wk get a little snowboarding in!! It's nice not to have to work all the time !!Only thing about getting old thats worth a shit! Your grow looks great and its got to be really beutiful in the mountains this time of year . Have a great Christmas ,your probably gonna be harvesting by the end of Jan should be a good one by the looks of the pics.!!
Hey ol hippy, been wondering where you've been, glad to hear from you again. Actually, I'm not adding any grow nutes, just flower. But the ones I'm using are only part of their system so they are similar to grow. Let me explain:

for flowering I'm using Advanced Sensi Bloom parts A&B, added together they have an analysis of 6-6-9, Advanced recommends you add something like Big Bud to the mix, that has an analysis of 0-2-4. Added together they would approximate a 6-8-13. I started with just the 6-6-9 for the first week, everything looked great. So the second week I thought it was time to start cranking things up so I added the Big Bud in the mix. Within just a couple days some of the lower fans leaves started to yellow and fall off. In reading I've discovered that too much K can block the plant's ability to use the N in your nutes so I immediately stopped using the Big Bud and stuck with just the 6-6-9 and just as fast the leaves stopped yellowing.

What I've found is that since N is mobile in your plants when it needs more N to continue growing and it's not getting enough the plant will pull it up from the lower leaves to use in the new growth, that's why the bottom leaves are dying. I just stopped adding the K and voila! Problem solved! It's been 4 days since I stopped using them and my only problem today is keeping them in the closet, they want to crawl out of there for more room!

So, I'm sticking with a simple formula, from what I'm reading you don't get anything by giving high doses of nutes, they will only use what they can. I've been reading a lot of Uncle Ben's stuff and he's a big proponent of using simple nutes, he's even mentioned that Wal-Mart puts out a good product. Something with an analysis of 1-3-2 is good according to Uncle Ben. I've been watching my plants closely and trying to anticipate their needs, UB feels that if you keep the entire plant healthy the buds will come, sounds like a winner to me, that's what I'm trying to do!

Good to hear you're getting out for some boarding, I've heard Mammoth is a great place with an incredible mountain. You guys are probably getting some good snow right about now aren't you? It's headed my way, supposed to hit pretty big tomorrow. I was supposed to head down to Denver for Christmas but now that looks like it's off, damn, I was hoping to spend it with my kids but it looks like I won't be seeing any family this weekend. This won't be my first holiday by myself, at least the dogs are always here!

Have a great one man! It looks like the snow shoes are going to get some good use this weekend!

Damn you're fast, lol. Thanks for the reply once again. You know, that is just music to my ears. If I were lucky enough to be in an area where I could get a perfect 6 - 6.4 pH then I would be in heaven, lol. Just add water, add nutes, check pH and go. Wow, that sounds too good to be true, lol. I'm sure I'll have more questions on the way but for now, you've been a great help. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to you too.

I also use city tap water and I'm sure it's pretty hard (high ppm) and it's 6.5 out of the tap. When I add nutes, it comes to 5.9 every time and stays in the 5.8-6.0 range until the nute concentration gets low. The reason for this is that tap water with dissolved minerals holds a steady pH. Distilled water does not have any dissolved minerals and the pH fluctuates constantly. Some growers say that tap water (with it's chlorine, etc.) is harmful to the plants but I have not seen any problems, and some of the best grows I've seen on here used tap water. Roseman uses hard water and we all know what his grows look like.

It's because of Roseman that I decided to go with my tap water, Cervantes says to use distilled, but I can't believe that plants would prefer something as lackluster as water with nothing in it. My understanding is that the minerals in the water buffer the pH and this relieves the pH bouncing around.

It depend a LOT on where you are. Leadville forget it, Meeker, no problem. I grew outside for many years at 7500' and it's pretty cold up there. Last frost June 15th, first frost Sept. 1st, but the plants didn't mind it too much during flower. I'd do them small, in 12" pots, 6 a year, I'd get enough to last me and all my visitors a year. Not very polished, bag seed always, but I'd get some damn good smoke.

yea man the quality of outdoor compared to indoor is debatable and we wont even get into in here lol! I took an outdoor journey this past summer that ended in sucess and its on such a different level, its really an experiance!! I have a very well documented thread of my grow this past season if you're ever bored and wanna read a story and look at pictures https://www.rollitup.org/outdoor-growing/204335-6-ft-tall-starting-show.html
Its a bummer I'm not going to be able to do that again this next season. I live at over 10,000ft so yea, lol! I wonder if some autoflowering strains if put out at the right time would make it?

Yeah, 10,000' you can pretty much forget about outside, though there may be strains that would work, I just don't know about them.

Let's see, 10,000' you say, I've got a couple guesse as to where you're talking about, possibly not too far from me, though I'm thinking the other side of the mountain.

Hope your holiday is going good, mine is nice and relaxing so far.

Yea, we probably arent too far away..Its very possible your clones came from the same place my sour diesel came from. The view is pretty nice up here, especially this time of year. I talked to a local the other day and he told me if I wanted to do any outdoor I'd have to travel to lower elevation, but I'm willing to bet there is some kind of bizarre strain for these conditions.

Happy holidays to you as well. =)
