in the past i have switched to 12 hour light cycle after my plants were about 6 inches high until they started to bud then pulled the males and went back to 24 hour light is this ok did i hurt my plants do they have a life span i wonder if it any affect on them the harvest wasnt that great good smoke no seeds

Putting them back on 24/0 will stress the plant but should not have an overall effect on long term results. You don't mention any other growing conditions so I can't tell you if they didn't get enough light or nutes, temps were off, or what strain your growing. Could just been bad genetics from bag seed.......
