yeah I'm in North eastern Ontario, about 6 hour drive from NY. We had a lot of rain and wind lately as well, lost 2 plants from the base branches snapping. Weird that this would happen, as usually my plants hold out fine during harsh weather. Oh well that's why I always plant double or triple the amount I wish to have at the end of the season lol.

Planting extra is a good idea,I do it too.Lost a lower branch off one of mine, but nothing serious.Just couldn't believe some of the wind gusts today.

We got pounded by the wind all morning and up to about 5:00 PM.Then the rain pounded us for a couple more hours.Thought for sure I was gonna lose them.Glad I had them supported or it would have been a different story.Another week or so and I won't need to worry about it anymore.

Flying branches in the wind and falling trees can smash dope plants to pieces.

I've lost most of mine. Ughhhh. They were 12 footers and just got devastated. To prevent this next year I'll definetly top them but what the best way to trellis? I saw some photos where a dude anchored them to the ground with tent stakes and nylon rope. thoughts?

No doubt others lost some plants yesterday.Weather was just brutal in my area.I drove 6' fence posts around one of mine on three sides and tied her off with cloth strips from an old shirt.
Tent stakes and rope sounds like a good idea too,but I wouldn't use anything real thin for the rope.

i think ill be, good. i had work at 8, so not too sure how bad it was then. But it didnt seem anything major in the morning, just a little wind and rain(atleast where i was), then it stopped, around one, then we got hit good for 15 min arund 4:30. I got lucky, and cought the edge of it, 45 min to an hr south of me, theres some pretty severe damage

i had one knocked over no damage though, but its all mangled and needs to re stretch its self out, very depressing to so your plant in that condition.

just got done checking all mine, only damage done wasnt even from the weather, critters stipped one plant of some lower branches and all the skin around the main stem about 8 in up from the dirt. its completely bare. but as far as the weather, just a little lean from the buds being weighed down with water. so far the trellising is doing its job,

Glad to hear the good news.I think anything within say,15 or 20 miles of my location would have been history without good support.I haven't heard of anyone taking huge losses from yesterdays storms and that's a good thing !
