Im in the process of putting together my small grow cabinet, it measures 12'' deep, 30'' wide, and 36'' tall and has (2) 70w hps bulbs in it. (PICTURE ATTATCHED) Im going to paint the inside with flat white spray paint so it will be reflective. But my bulbs are about an inch maybe a little more from the roof of the cab and have no reflectors on them.

My question is that since im painting it all white inside do i still need to make a reflector for them? Or will the white paint on the top be good? If I did a reflector I would use sheet metal from home depot, whats more reflective sheet metal like aluminum or flat white paint?

Also, with this amount of space what would be the best method of growing to yield the most per grow? I was thinking either 3 plants and LST them, or SCROG. With 1' x 2.5' floor space how many plants could i fit with a SCROG? I was hoping for 2 but maybe only 1.
I want to get this up and running asap so any input will help, thank you.

the flat white paint will be more reflective... the sheetmetal isnt very reflective and would probly get hotter than the painted wood.

maybe just one or two plants in a scrog set up.

make sure you get some sort of ventilation in there as well.

Not flat it absorbs the light use gloss or semi Yes on the vent best controlled like a computer put a 3-4 inch hole on opposite sides and staggered on high the other low----high is exhaust low is intake--- use a fan that can bolt to it one blows in one blows out circulates and can go on a timer or thermostat if you are clever.

yes flat white IS more reflective...

foylon =....................94-95 percent reflective
reflective mylar = ...... 90-95 percent
flat white paint = ...... 85-93
semi gloss white =.......75-80
flat yellow=................70-80
black=.......................less than 10 percent.

...but i wouldnt use spray paint, i would use regular paint, or actually i would buy a real reflector, but the paint is better than nothing.

I dont think there is a reflector i can buy that would work in this situation because i have little space. I could make one out of metal and paint it white, thats about the best I can do here i think. would that be an improvement or should I just go without one?

yea thats why i said use normal water based paint cuz its probably less toxic... i doubt it will cause you any problems... and if you paint the sheetmetal than you have the same worries...

or you could buy white plastic and staple gun it to the wallls of the cab, or mylar would be better.
