Settings for Viparspectra Par450

Hey everyone. I'm going to try using a Viparspectra Par450 for a small indoor grow (1.5m-1.5m-2m tent).

The Viparspectra par450 has 3 dimmable switched for blue, red and white light. I was wondering how much of each light should I have during each period of the grow? The old Viparspectras used to have dimmable switches aswell but they were specifically labeled Veg and Bloom.

Only running 3 plants so is a small grow.

Cheers!

What is the draw power of this light with different switch on? 30--35W/SF will be need for growth stage, 35---50W/SF for bloom. I am using one Mars ProII 320 in tent 4x4, draw power is 750W, 46.8W/SF, my girls are very happy under this light.

Hey mate, I’m not too sure on all the terminology you just used. But it’s 450w and the specs from what I can research says draw power is 202w. The light has three dials so I can choose the spectrum I want. From research I assume more blue light is better for the veg stage and then switch to more red or just full spectrum for the flowering stage? (It says to use all dimmers on 100% for flowering stage on the actual led itself)

Thanks for the help!

I'd run that light full bore the whole grow honestly.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but if it draws 202w, it is a 202 watt light. Any other numbers are marketing BS.
For a 1.5x1.5 tent (5x5ft.), you need several times more light.

Ah ok. I've seen people use just this single light with quite good success, I'm only growing 3 plants so thought it would be enough? I will still use it but basically I should get some other lights in there as well? Should I get some HPS bulbs as well? Cheers.

Just give her all its got. That fixture will flower a 2x2 area adequately-you'd need 6 of them to cover a 5x5.

When I use my Mars light, I turn on growth switch for veg, my plants can get more blue light. During bloom stage, I turn on growth and bloom switch, then my plants will get more red light.

I agree with you. I think he need at least 4pcs of 202W led light. When I use my Mars led, I try to achieve at least 35W/SF. Then my girls can get enough light.

From the PAR 450 manual:
Seedlings: 28" - 32" height dimmer 80% (on) dimmer B & W 30% (on) R. After a week or two, bring down to 22" - 28" with 100% B & W and 50% R for the rest of veg. 18 hours on.
Flowering: 16" to 18" all three 100%. It does not share on/off times but that's 12/12 of course.

I'm using same light in 36" x 24" x 62" but also have 2 Viparspectra R300's (more red spectrum than the old ones) in addition. Viparspectra will accept an offer of $120/2 delivered on Fleabay for those. I agree with the others; you need more light for the size of your tent. Another option is Viparspectra's Amazon's division; they are auctioning like-new or unused returns on Fleabay. My unused PAR 450 was obtained for under $125.
