Setting up a vented light hood

Quick question... I just got a vented light hood and an inline fan. I have never used one of these before so I have a stupid question?

Am am I supposed to pull air thru the hood or push the air from the other side?

All depends on type of carbon filter type. The phresh brand filters are designed to be run either way.
That being said, the preferred method is to pull air thru the light.

I have not decided on the filter yet... I may just do a DIY filter for now. Friggin hood and fan were expensive. : (

it made sense to me to pull the air thru, but thought I'd make sure.

Yep, it's amazing how fast grow equipment costs add up.
It's also funny how you end up with a surplus of stuff you will have around from when you do upgrades.

Hehehehe... I started in a cabinet and now I am moving on to using the whole closet. So I can now add an 8' tall hutch into my spare parts pile.

I had the same problem.Although i purshased a filter,i was stupid enough to do some shitty wiring and my fan did not fit my vented lighthood(the wire was in the way -.- ). So i am fixing this tomorrow.I will call my provider to find out how to work this out as well .I think you should do the same.

I have my hood now, but I just ordered the fan. If it looks like a problem when it comes in, I might have to do that.
