Set up

HEY guys,
So I'm thinking of setting up my first indoor grow.
Done my first grow outdoors last summer. 1 plant, Random bagseed. 105g total dry. I was happy with that

So I wanna grow again but guess im kinda impatient and can't wait for winter to leave,

So I'm thinking of starting off indoors. Would like opinions of my ideas before I get it up and running.

So I'm thinking. Build some kinda grow box, 1m X 1m x 2m out of mdf / mylar

For a total of 2 auto female plants at a time in 5-7 gal pots..

Strains I'm not too sure in yet. But thinking of trying out dinafem or royal queen seeds.

Lighting would be a total of 6 Cfl's 45w (225w equivalent) (3000lm each =18000lm) . Starting with 2 then adding more as time goes on, there will be 3 6500k and 3 2700k. on a schedule of 18/6 the whole way through.

Nutes - I'm not sure on yet. There's alot of controversy over which nutes are better for AF varieties. So any advice appreciated,

Medium will be either fox farms. Or possibly a coco grow. Again not sure. Just looking for the easiet best option.

They'll also be 2 desk fans inside to refresh the air. And a intake for fresh air and outtake for expelled air.

So yeh. There we go. I'm hoping to get it up and running soon. Would appreciate your thoughts.

Looking for a big yielding auto that's not too complicated to grow. I'd like to hit 100g total dry. so avg of 50g from both plants. You guys think it's realistic? or am I better off growing more than 2? Or just stick to the one.?

Any thoughts??

I know nothing about Autos, but 6sq ft should be good for 2 plants.

CFL's - I recommend a 3:1 ratio of 6500K to 2700K for Veg, and the other way around for Flower.
You migh also want to get more CFL's for supplemental side lighting since they have no real penetrating power.

I honestly have to say, HPS makes better buds than CFL's.

Good luck

I'be found that MDF is very very heavy.. plywood is much lighter, easier to work with, and usually cheaper depending on what you get. Nutes I can't say much about.. I've done hydro and gone completely organic and haven't looked back.

Okay. Sonic been doing a little thinking and had a change of plans. Footprint for grow box will be. 60wx60dx150h(cm) made from plywood and wooden frame. Mylar inside. I now plan on running a 250w hps cool tube. 125mm 4" intake fan with carbon scrubber.in there running on a scrog set up.
I'll be going with the dr krippling range. seen some amazing grows with this, I'll be using 11l square pots. bio bizz all mix. And bio bizz nutes.
My question is. Shall I scrog 2 plants. Or do a perpetual 1 plant grow?

No. As post above said I've decided to scrap the Cfl's ( poss use a couple for side lights) and go with a 250hps.. I've read a few grows with people hitting 190g dry with this strain and set up. I'd be happy to just hit at least 28g. Anything extra is a bonus.

If you have that space . Stuff 6 auto fast and vast in 3 gallon pots by heavyhitter seeds I think its called and just give them a good amended soil and plenty of water and they will surprise you. I got 3 oz from 4 plants in one 18 gallon tote dry, under 2 300 watt leds. It was an experiment and the smoke wasn't bad at all. They were definitely calmag whores so keep an eye on that cause I gave them spring water only not tap.

It sounds interesting. And tbh autos are something I wanna have a play with. But I wanna jump in with phenos.
I've bit the bullet and ordered today 3 seeds.
All dr krippling
Incredible Bulk
Buzz light gear
Kripple shock.
I'll be growing this scrog style. Would you guys recommend to scrog 1 or 2 plants.? I was thinking starting off 1 plant in a 20l air pot. Using the uncle ben's topping technique. Then root / clone the top I'd cut off. And grow In a 10l air pot.(no space for 2 x 20l) worth a shot? Saves wasting the topping. As with ub topping I'd have a healthy 3 node 'top'

Also be interested to hear feedback on strains
