Like the title says I have two plants in my back yard, 1 about 3 feet and the other about 4. Both are Nirvana Northern lights. They showed white pistols at least a month ago and nothing happened..They're still growing though but like stuck in veg..

Any ideas? Its my first outdoor and its starting to feel late in the season for not flowering yet.

*UPDATE* 9/4/2010-- Since i've started this thread the problem has been solved. Many people like me had porch lights or some sort of backyard light that was stopping flowering. Upon turning these lights off, both my plants started flowering 2 days later :). Good Luck everyone.

And they are both 100% females.

I was going to put them indoors when they started flowering but they've gotten way to big now haha. In the container, the bigger one is taller than me. Oops

There are a few garden lights, I've actually wondered about this before. 1 of the lights stays on most of the night and is relatively close to my plants. It doesn't light the plants up, but definitely outlines there shapes in the darkness. I guess i'll try and remove that light see if It makes a difference in the next week.

If its not that is there anything else it could be?

could be just a long flowering strain i dont know alot about northern lights when is you first frost? thats what you should be worried about.

Most plants have a 8 to 10 week flowering period ecspecially outdoors. Just be patient and let them grow. When outdoors you are at the mercy of mother nature. Probably going to be ready around the end of Oct.

I'm not too worried about frost, we shouldn't have any until dec-jan at the earliest. Ya Im hoping its just a long flowering strain! that would be nice.

I have 6 right now 3 Super lemon Haze, 1 White Widow, 1 Rock Lock, & 1 LA Women. The Rock Lock is full of buds, my SLH's i think are just starting there's nothing on them hardly, same with the WW & LA Women. The SLH's are like 8 feet tall, while the rest are about 6, so im kinda worried if there gonna make it too, & by the way rock lock is extremely potent looking, fucking sugar caoted like crazy, just saying its a good strain to try.

I'll definitely give rock lock a chance sometime. But good luck for your plants also! Its been a weird summer in cali...

Im growing the Church which has Northern Lights in its genetics. It too took a while to bud after i saw the first white pistils. Only now is it JUST showing the embryonic signs of buds. I had an outside light which I thought could have influenced the plant so made sure it was turned off. Just wait I guess, Im expecting to harvest late October.... Greenhouse Seed Co. say 1st week of Oct...

i have two samsara spiritual punk(N.L x Mazar) females that have yet to start flowering as well. they say its supposed to finish end of september, but thats way out of the question now. The funny thing is that they are showing bright red almost electric pink pre flowers but they are tiny and just here and there. I'm just hoping to pull something off them hopefully by mid october if i can get them to go that long

i hate to disagree with the people who say that it maybe a long flowering strain.. all long flowering means is that it will flower for a longer amount of time, not that it will take longer for it to start flowering.. and i[m pretty sure that northern lights is an indica dom strain, which probably has about an 8 week or so flowering period..
i would remove that light, like you said you did, and give them like a week or so, and see if they are showing any more signs of flowering..
g'l with the rest of the grow m8..
