Seeking nearly pure Sativa seeds. Seedbank/Breeder rec, or trade.

I am not the type to ask for advice and then ignore it. So, I used everyone’s advice in one way or another, if available.

Utilizing the single seed centre, went with ..

-fem Dr Grinspoon from Barneys Farm. Was never a fan of the fem, but after growing out some bag seed fem from some Green Crack (that turned out very good) I dropped my beef with fem.

-Hawaii Maui Waui from Sativa Seedbank. Looks good.

-El Dorado from Sativa Seed Bank

-Mama Thai. I wanted a thai, and was very impressed with Indian Haze from Seedsman.

Unfortunately Mekong Haze from Delta 9 was unavailable. Too bad, it looks good. Nevilles Haze I imagine is somewhere in my 12wk super silver haze. Trying to get something different.

Some Thai, Some Hawaiian, Some Mexican/Columbian and a wild card (Dr Grinspoon). Should be able to find 1 or 2 keepers in there to compliment my Haze from Bean Ho. Won't really have time to get to this until fall.

I have gone through looking for keepers in multiple packs before. But doing it with a ton of tall long flowering Sativas is going to be a fucking mess. I'm up for the challenge though.

Really appreciate all the info, advice, etc..

Thanks Pizzapuffer. Ill look into that heirloom sativa. Single seeds as well.
Yea, thank you pizzapuffer, I too, am a Sativa purist. Its getting harder and harder to find these (land race) because it seems like most people prefer the Hybrids that have more CBD's, etc. I prefer to do $hit after getting my morning buzz going. Couch lock is better suited to my night time gaze (glaze) that comes over me when in front of the TV...

That is a nice looking list. You should be able to find a keeper or two in there somewhere. I hope you do a journal on your experience. Many of us would benefit from following along.

Reeferman is back around I guess. I was viewing a site he runs I think that was like a ghost town. There were only a couple strains being offered and the prices were pretty high. I'm pretty sure that consigning his breeding program a while back has hurt his reputation too. Once the germination on many of the seeds was in question, Hemp depot couldn't unload their product fast enough it seems. I was telling people that Reeferman gear was not coming back and I really wanted to try some of the strains available for so long but it's hard to justify growing something with little to no unbiased reviews, especially when the germ rates are low.

Sorry I got off topic a bit. I have always wanted to try the el dorado, please do a journal.

i just today mailed off a pack of those willie nelsons for a trade on another site..
Damn. You have anymore? I've got a little stash of seeds. No original breeders packaging, but I wouldn't lead anyone the wrong way.

I wasn't sure if it was ok to propose trades on RIU. I had originally intended to list what I had but I didn't want to get anyone bent.

I am an indica fan and only have one sativa grow but.... I grew out ACE Panama Red and got the taste and stone of the best south american pot of the 70's. I was very satisfied with it and will not try other pure sativas, as this provides the soaring but non anxiety buzz of the better Colombians of the 70's.

Most phenos were pink pistils and were wispy buds. One pheno was white pistils which later turned red, but the buds were dense and yielded well.

ACE and Cannabiogen specialize in landrace strains and most of the reports are good on them. The Panama I have only read good reports of it, and there were quite a few. They have a Punto Rosa which is a Colombian Red from long ago. Great smoke from the 70's. I never did get PR back then but got Colombo and Yucatan and some other good Mexican. They have some African and Asian sativas as well. The Golden Tiger strain is said to be a little much for some smokers, as well as Malawi and Green Haze.

I will apply some uvb light to the PR next time and see if this bumps it up some. These strains are grown in very intense sunlight in their native land and some uvb seems to be in order for a indoor grow.

yeah i also dont really like feminized seeds but the i just had to try the grinspoon. the heirloom sativa caught my eye and i read good things. i can get pics but its only in veg and has a ways to go since i grow my plants pretty big. i will def post pics when its in flower. also about sativas in general, i read in either a heads or high times that they grow better if you add blue supplemental lighting. im thinking of maybe getting some blue LEDs for supplemental. also like another person was saying, UV are said to increase potency if used the last couple weeks of flowering. not just sativas, all strains. they only make them in t8s though. be nice to put those on the walls or sides of hoods.

I think the Eldorado is going to be your favorite by far! I have only had one bag of Eldorado. It is super super good weed. It is probaly the best high I have ever had. I could smoke a joint or should I say a half a joint @ 9 in the morning and work all day. HARD working my ass off all day. And still be high when I sat down at lunch. BLAZED!!!! Everything eles I smoke doesnt last 10min after I start to work. The buzz just goes away. We own a lanscape company and once you start to sweat you just not high anymore. But with Eldo man I was ripped all day and clear and everything was fine.

heres some grinspoon about a month in veg from seeedView attachment 2178976View attachment 2178977View attachment 2178978

no feeding or anything special. 7 gallon pot. half fox farm half fertilome. added a bit of lime and kelp meal. i ph my water every time to 6.4 - 6.7. im gonna feed it some big bloom today though. shes under 24/7 hours of hps. 400w. hood is about 6 inches away from the top. i use dirt pots. their made of a mesh which water goes through and have no holes in the bottom. they help roots breathe better. they dry out quicker though too. maybe i'll try her in hydro cause i think im gonna take some clones before i flower.
