Before each seed is germinated, is it already a male or female? Or is the sex determined on the way you grow it?

nope its already male or female --there was a chart i saw awhile ago that showed that there was a way to determine sex from the actual seed (something like the females have craters and wont roll on a table) i tried looking for it just now but no luck, im not sure if its really possible to do i tried to follow it but i was a little confused BUT i did end up with 2 out of 3 of my plants being female :-P
