Seeds Won't Germinate?

Hey there, I've tried planting two seeds, but neither of them have germinated, any suggestions?

The first time, I used the wet paper towel in a dark box method. After it didn't germinate after three days, I decided to just stick it in soil under a CFL and hope for the best. After about a week, nothing happened.

The next time, I put it in soil straight away (having read a post suggesting that the paper towel method's a bad idea) and left it on my windowsill. After about a week, nothing happened again.

The seeds were feminised blue mystic from nirvana

i have blue mystics from Nirvana and they germed 24 hours in.. what i do is put them in paper towel, put two lil plates on top n bottom, stick them in a ziplock bag, then put em on top of my satelite box so they stay warm.. works 95 percent of the time..

sounds like you got old seeds. try contacting nirvana, ive heard stories where they take care of people in your situation.
though its prolly to late to make a difference, you could try filing (very very gently filing) using a fine grit nail file the edge off of the seed, the idea is you want to just barely break through the hard, shiny outer shell of the seed and expose the inner material to water. to much filing will kill the seed, though, its a fine art.

Paper towel between 2 plates worked well for me.
usually all but one or two of my seeds popped after 24 hour.
works well if you keep them warm around 30c/86f.
good luck with your next go at it :)
