A male will produce pollen sacks.

A female will produce calyxes.

The general aim is for these two to mate, if the male spread his pollen and it lands on female calyxes and pistils then it will seed. The resulting seeds are a mixture of the parents and can exhibit tendencies from both parents until the strain is stabilised.

The seeds produced will be usually 50/50 female to male ratio but the plants conditions will determine this. If the conditions aren't great then the plant could change its distribution of male and female to improve its chances of reaching another generation.

Some people actually give the plant conditions so that they will make the female turn hermi, which means it will have both sets of sexual organs, the pollen produce from the hermie will self pollenate the plant and make feminized seeds.

Although there is a lot more too it and generally unless you are a breeder with years of experience and knowledge then your only going to get hermie seeds as a result.

Well we will see. I have 3 growing now, they are about 3" high now. It will be interesting to see what happens to them. I didn't thing the seeds from a female were good at all, just dead seeds. When I try to germinate them in a paper between to plates they never sprout. Yet in soil they grow.

Hey guys I have an update. Out of those 3 i just put one into flowering and I can see a few hairs today. So thats 1 female so far. Will see if she turns into a hermie or not. I still need a few weeks for the other 2 plants.:joint:

I just wanted to update about my seeds from my female plants. All 4 that I planted in soil came up female and possible the 3 before that. Does that mean I feminized my plants? I think I have my own strain here. Let me know what you guys think. I was told if you get seeds from your females that they will not grow at all. This proves that wrong. I still have 3 more seeds that I can plant from my last grow.:joint:

Yes you get seeds from a pollenated female plant. But remember we grow seedless. I'm really not sure how this happened but all females is good.:joint:

sometimes when a female flowers a long time she will pop out just a few small male flowers. just enough to release a little bit of pollen. it usually is only enough for a seed or 2. this is why we often find a single random seed in an otherwise seedless bag. these seeds should be femanized(sp) since the pollen came from a female plant. it gets a little deeper than that but in a nutshell......
