Seeds Confiscated by US Customs

I have had an order confiscated here in the midwest so I am sure it was Chicago, But they sent me my re-order for free, and it arrived in six days. I always still use the same addy and they come. I believe the problem would be if you disputed them to claim your property. They cannot check all of them, but if you order chances are eventually they will catch some and keep them. Guaranteed shipping is worth the extra bucks.

of all my orders the past few years this was my only one to be scooped , i feel like i've been very lucky, as far as the pre paid cards . the feds aren't spending the time and manpower to prosecute people for shipping seed , its not a controlled substance
What pre-paid CC do you use ?
You in the States ?

Im concerned with having my name recorded as an intended recipient, Ive noticed the letters sent from customs has a tracking/reference number on the bottom in case you want to dispute it and go down to claim your seized items (like an idiot) That means your name is recorded somewhere to be looked up when you show up at the customs office holding the paper asking for your seeds (cuz there are people who figure if you can buy it online it must be legal) I know they wont pursue anyone because they cant prove that you ordered them, they have no case or proof of your criminal intent.

My question is, when attitude or anyone else sends you a pack, do they include a packing slip or bill of lading inside like most normal online orders do.. like a receipt showing the order details and shipment address etc... that could link your order to a credit card ? That could be used to prove intent.

Im not a cop, but I do get regular background checks every few years that are more indepth than a police newhire. I cant have my name come up when they do a "supergoogle" and pull my name out of a list of 10million others who had a pkg intercepted.

Anyone know for a fact if there are records kept, I understand they have no case and wont pursue it so no biggie for the average joe... Think about this, if you have honey sent from a relative in new zealand and its taken, you may not have known it was illegal to import honey from new zealand but you still get the chance to dispute it or pay to send it back to sender before the gov takes and destroys your stuff (it could be something expensive but not harmful or dangerous, that you would prefer to go back) I know they wouldnt let you re-ship illegal cannabis seeds back to anyone and they would definately be destroyed, but there has to be a routine procedure where they remove the intercepted item, record the ship-to info in order to make the letter to send to you, and a reference number associated so they can look up your info when you come to inquire about grandmas honey that never showed up. They may have mistakenly interecepted honey that was labeled "made in the USA" and they asumed it was foreign. So you go down and clear it up. I dunno, Im just thinking that if they send you a letter, its not addressed by hand so there was a computer involved in printing it and thusly your name is recorded somewhere that can be searched. I really want someone to prove me wrong, someone who can tell me 100% that they do not keep a record. I really need some seeds but cant risk my job (whether anyone comes to my place or not, my job will can me for a negative result like that on a background).. same reason I cant get a med card, my name would be searchable and my workplace is exempt from state MMJ laws, cant be mmj patient and keep my job :( tired of growing dirty mexican cartel bagseeds.

no they do not include anything that would link anyone to the purchase, or that a purchase took place. if your really concerned have a friend order them and slip your friend some cash for the trouble. if you do decide to order, remember not to make huge orders. less stuff in the package = less stuff than can be seen ;)

good luck!

Having never ordered seeds before, how do they come if you choose re-packed vs the original breeder packs (never seen one)? what do they do when you get the shirt? is it just a shirt to fill a bigger box or do they do something special? If they re-pack em how do you know which seed is what? When you get the freebies from Attitude or anywhere else, are they labeled somehow when you get em? Im ok however they want to do it, whatever is most stealth, as long as I know which seed is which. If you get the candies, is it a bunch of chocolates with nuts and fluffy rice stuff, cuz that would prob be really stealth thru xray. Im so freakin sketched out about ordering, but I just killed another hermie tonite and am desperate for good genetics.

Thanks for all the info guys! I ordered twice from tude the first one got here with no problem but the second one I got a letter from the CA port. I didn't get the guarantee on either order but after reading this post I'm going to order again and from now on I'm going to get the guarantee.

hey before you place another order, do some more research here. there are many orders getting snagged from the tude right now from what i hear.

thats what i am worried about if i choose to buy seeds online not sure where else i could get some good seeds from i don't have many people i talk to offline so have a friend order for me would be an issue and i have no where else to send them but here also i am claustraphobic spelled that wrong so if i went to jail for dumbass reason i wouldn't do well seeing how small and no way to escape from the small areas jails are like i would prolly freak out if that were to happen i can't even close my bedroom door all the way or i get real bad aniexty i have a lot of issues just thinking about gets to me bad

To be clear, viable cannabis ceeds are explicitly prohibited by the Federal controlled substance act.

So yes, they are a "controlled substance", though you're absolutely right that with thousands of packages coming in from all over the planet every day, customs spends most of its limited resources looking for actual drugs in actual quantity (eg ounces of coke, heroin, etc), weapons, and other more serious contraband. They'll snag ceeds if they find any, but that's pretty low on their priority list.

Seems like one person at Chicago has made it his priority to find them :p.

That's entirely possible.

Maybe one guy or the team there has seen so many packages from "Attitude" that they're now spotted instantly. Since that's the single biggest bank, this wouldn't surprise me at all.

Not really sure what the workaround there is except maybe ordering from somewhere else.

I believe there are a few Canadian seedbanks that ship to the USA, and a LOT of mail that crosses that border every day.

Not getting a letter doesn't mean that customs hasn't confiscated your package.

Yes, by the book they probably "should" be filling out a report, sending a letter, etc, but in practice, its "no harm, no foul". They know nobody is going to come forward trying to claim the contraband, or complain to them about not having received it, so its just not worth their time doing paperwork. Its also certainly possible that someone in customs has the most bitchin' seed collection in North America!

But no matter what they actually do with the confiscated package, if they snag it, I think you'd much rather have them just toss it (or steal it) and be done with it, rather than have them formally document what was in it and where it was going.

In general, if orders from Attitude consistently aren't making it through, for whatever reason, that will kill a good chunk of Attitudes' business. It doesn't matter exactly why not, in today's internet era, word will get around, and nobody will be ordering from them anymore.

As mentioned above, as long as Attitude has to reship lost/confiscated orders, they have every interest in making sure the goods arrive. If customs is the problem, Attitude will either have to change its stealth (which I suspect wont help much. . .there are only so many different methods they can use, and they're still probably shipping from the same location), stop offering replacement guarantees, increase its prices, or some combination of the above.

I hear a lot of people talking about ordering online with a pre-paid credit card. It's been my experience that most pre-paid cards are great for using anonymously in person, but if you want to use it online, you have to go and register it, by giving an address, SSN, etc. Even the wal-mart pre-paid requires a SSN to be able to register it so you can use it online. Perhaps you can order over the phone with a pre-paid? Any thoughts?

It still has to be shipped no matter how it's paid for.

hey if we stop buying beans, then customs wont find them, and eventually stop looking for them.

i mean even a bean thief at customs will get sick at looking inside packages and not finding any beans. unless all the packages coming from the uk have beens in them.

Don't think that's really going to happen. If nobody really orders beans, then not only will most of the seedbanks fold, so will most of the smaller breeders!

Part of it may be better scanning equipment, but I think the biggest reason so many are being caught now is because so many more people are growing now and ordering these from abroad.

More packages coming in = more chance for interception of any one package, and then once intercepted, more likelihood for wise customs agents to recognize similar packages from the same shipper.

For this reason, as I mentioned in the other open thread on this topic, I think its pretty likely that all the customs agents already know what the Attitude packages look like. Attitude is only shipping so many ways, the packages are probably all coming from the same shipping location, and customs aren't complete idiots. With so many Attitude orders already intercepted, and so many coming through every day, they pretty much HAVE TO know by now what they look like. So I think their "stealth" probably doesn't matter so much.

The upshot of this is that if they keep seeing high interception rates, its going to hurt their business, and Attitude is either going to have to change how it ships it packages, stop offering a free re-shipment guarantee, increase its prices, or some combination of the above.

Higher prices will translate into overall fewer orders (ie fewer people who can afford them, and of the ones who are ordering, fewer beans per order). This not only hurts seedbanks, but also breeders, especially smaller less established ones.

Obviously the latter isn't true. Plenty of stuff comes in from the UK (plus other countries), that is perfectly legitimate.

If you think about it, any bean "thief" at customs would quickly accumulate more beans they could possibly use in a lifetime. All they'd have to do is seize 1-2 orders a month out of probably dozens or hundreds going through their facility and pretty soon they'd have a collection of dozens of packs; more than any one individual could possibly grow.

I think the "answer" to this problem from a buyer's perspective is to mix up the orders. Orders coming from countries other than England and Holland are probably a bit less suspicious. Multiple smaller packages mean more chance of at least some of them getting through. Small letter-like packages are probably the most "stealthy" in the sense that more of those probably run through customs than anything else, and they can't possibly all be hand-inspected.

I can imagine things sellers could do to tip the odds a bit more in their favor, but I think its inappropriate to post about them.

I believe Attitude could seriously get there shit together in the stealth department.
Cmon... a bunch of ceeds shoved in an envelope inside a t-shirt? I ordered from them twice and couldn't believe my ceeds got through both times.

I just recieved an order from SOS 3 days ago. It sat in LA ISC for four days. I recieved it with the green US Customs and Border Protection tape.
It had been opened and inspected and passed! I will never use Attitude again until I hear some positive posts about a newer stealth method.

To answer the ops original question, there is a guy on here who's order was seized as well from the Tude. He took pictues of the inspected package with the Cusoms tape and told them they were seized. He said they reshipped the order.
I am going to continue to use SOS, since that shit is so stealthy, those customs pricks can't even find it!
