Also you dont have to place the sead facing down. Merely "tossing" the seed into the 1/2 inch deep hole is perfect.

It's actually best to plant it with the seed tip pointing up. The bottom is the fat round side with the hollow indention, if the seed fell on the ground this is it's natural orientation.
When the root tip comes out it needs some leverage to get out of the ground. It can't do that by trying to drill straight up, rather it has grow itself into a U shape and then lifts the seed from the dirt. This also promotes the cotyledons emerging from the hull correctly as friction holds it in place. Done correctly you will never see a hull on the surface.
What happens when you plant the root tip down is the root tip grows back up to the surface then back down to the bottom of the pot more in the shape of an S. This delays emergence in all cases and if the seed is planted too deeply it may not have enough energy to lift itself up. This is why orientation is important.

Gratz on getting the seeds to pop! I was just gonna say throw each seed in its own, full, shot glass of properly PH'ed water for a day or 2, making sure to have them covered (no light getting in) and warm warm warm, ( i have luck in 75-85 deg F range.) Again gratz! hope they grow big and strong!!!
I have hard water only, its alkaline and i ph'd it to 5-6 and put them in trays of coco on a heating pad, they havnt sprouted yet, the water ph crept back up in the green.... i ph'd again and its been 9 days....these seeds are older(one or two years old) .... nothing yet. I am wondering!! It can take ten days or more for some seeds.... has anyone hears if my ph could be the issue...

Honestly I just use regular tap water and have never had problems. But if I knew I had bad water I would definitely get some spring water or distilled for germination.
I've never used coco for germination but I know it retains a bit of water like peat. Your problem could be that you got it too hot or that you overwatered it. After the seed has started emerging it really doesn't need heat anymore, just don't let it get cold. Germination would normally start in one days warming by the sun after rain. The the dirt 4-6" lower never reaches surface or ambient temperatures, get it started then keep it room temp. Don't use humidity domes unless it's below 70 and never in direct sunlight.
