Seeds ALL Dead!

Hey i was told too put my seedlings under a small desk lamp untill they came threw the soil and then onto the 400w lamp but they all died before i could put them under my 400w. Should i start again with the desk lamp or should i go for it and use 400w directly from when i pot them?

What kind of bulb is in the desk lamp?

How deep did you put them? 1/4" deep is all you need. Deeper is worse...not better.

Its just a normal light like for around the house its 60watts? I have a white bulb aswell but the 1 i have in now makes more heat? And its pretyy much impossible for me to get a cfl for it..
