seedlings taking forever

i have some seedlings in sure to grow inserts 1.5 inch and didnt have a tray and humidity dome to sprout them right so i placed the inserts in hydroton and in pure ph 5.8 water in a DWC. they sprouted about 15 days ago but havent grown any bigger since about 10 days ago. half the plants have one set of leaves and the other half have one set developed and one set starting to develope. i did have slime and algae problem but cleaned the buckets really good bought new airlines and added some kangaroots (somewhat of a bennie tea) and some super thrive. am i just being impatient or do i need to put the seedlings in a tray and dome til the have roots pushing out of the inserts? because my water level is about 1/4th the way up the net pot (plenty of o2 as theres 3 air stone per 5g bucket), and my soil grow seemed faster then this.

Move the water line below the net pot or at most even with bottom. You can NOT put enough oxygen in the water to make the plant survice when you're that high in the netpot especially if your up into the root origin. It will slow, stunt and even kill your plants no matter how many stones you have or big of pump.

Cannabis is a dry footed plant meaning that it mostly likes drier mediums to have roots grow in, we need the net pot to be misted to slightly dry as those roots will take in the o2 for us and the bottom roots below net will draw the water up and trigger new root growth down. See when you have water that high the roots tend to grow UP ward and not into your res, looking for air mostly cause the stones and pump you thought were cutting are not. I found this out after a few grows like you, wondering what the !@*&!.

Soon as I researched that and moved my water down my plants exploded and grow so fast now I have to cut down on vegging as my flower room is packed at the moment.

They WILL NEVER grow as fast as you will want period, but I know my plants grew A LOT faster with water line at bottom of net pots then up into them, that is a fact a at least from my testing and my observations.

Thanks man that has to be my prob because one plants roots did try to grow upwards and my medium is constantly soggy

as the roots start to get established which it sounds like they have and are ready for you to start pulling down the level, have her work for it
