Seedlings - Soil = Fast, Coco = Slow?

Hey everyone,

Been wondering about my seedlings and thought I’d get some other opinions.

Setup: 250w MH 16” above maybe a bit less. White widow (fem) in soil which are growing faster and larger. I then have autos Girl Scout and Blueberry in coco perlite 90/10 that seem to be smaller and growing way slower.

I fed some worm tea mixed with GHE grow/bloom at under a quarter strength. I don’t let me coco dry out completely. PH around 6 normal tap water.

Could it be the strain / auto that’s causing them to grow slightly slower? The leaves do look angled slightly down on the autos.

appreciate the help/suggestions.

cheers

Hey bud. There is a big difference between photos and autos. Just being autos means there were crossed with ruderelis which us a small crappy weed. It's only positive attribute is it auto flowers. There is also a big difference in strains. I would not give it a second thought, just the way it goes IMO.

thanks very much! It’s my first time trying autos as I couldn’t get hold of photos I liked (stock). I normally grow photos and will most defiantly stick to them in future. Makes sense and I suppose nice to compare them as finished plants too.

Looking good. Don't stress about the auto, at this point it's mostly just strain. But I've found autos do start a little different than photos. An auto will put more of its energy into stretching some roots out quickly before they start growing upwards for the first week or two, but it'll quickly catch up don't worry.

No worries, don't sweat the autos thing. Those little things have come a long way. You can grow some amazing autos these days so they are not something not worth exploring.

That’s great to know, thanks!

Cheers Doug, yea I’ve grown for years but strangely never tried them. Will pop an update on the forum in a couple weeks
