seedlings and cfl lighting

ive got some 3 day old seedlings and need to know if i can put them under a 250w cfl in my wardrobe, can anyone help?

Yes you can, now that they have sprouted, they need light. A 250 may actually give off some heat, so may be best not to keep them an inch away, but they definitely need light now.

cheers ledhed, sure the light wont be too strong or is there no such thing as too strong as far as lights concerned?

As light is concerned the brighter/stronger the better, if you think about it you want to try to get your lights as close as you can to the sun and look how many plants the sun grows, but usually with high powered lights come the heat righht after so thats what you really need to worry about, good cool air ventalation if you start using much more than a 250w.

Punky thats crap. In answer to your question there definitely IS such thing as too much light. This is proven through "light burn", a bleaching effect. At early seedling stage especially you have to be careful. A 250 cfl will be ok, but a 250 hps wouldnt.

Thats pretty conflicting guys, i think i'll stay with the 250w cfl but hang it bout 1foot away, your right about the heat!
