Seedling trouble. broken root. worried and need help please!

So this is my first grow and im using a dwc set up, i had one seed (its hard to get seeds in my area right now) and i germed and planted, but as i planted i broke about 1/3 of its 3/4 inch long root of. this was before it sprouted, but i planted it anyways, it sprouted and it grew for 2 days and the 3rd day, today i've noticed it hasn't grown at all, well my cat got into my box and just knock the sprout over, well thankfully the cat didn't break anything but i notice that the root is turning light brown from the tip where it broke, btw the root hasn't grown at all. i am 100% sure some of the root didn't not break off with the cat accident so it is all from the original breaking of it. any help/advice. do you think it will pull through?

in my set up i run GH flora series and a lil' bit of superthrive i got to help it through the stress. 2 cfls about 10 inches above the plant one 60w daywith one 100w soft white

well even tho the main root didt break doesnt mean that the microscopic ones didnt....it probably just shocked it...only 2 things can happen now...1.....plant will take couple of days to start growing again..2 plant wont get enough water and wont resist and die...remember to clean out and change the water everytime you feed it....u never know how much your plant is obsorving and u dont want to add on if there are still nutes left in the water, also its good to have to buckets..you fill it up with water and let sit for a day to all the clorine evaporates...then u add the nutrients and switch plant to the new water and wash the other bucket fill up with water and let sit...and keep so on....

Thanks, and yes i use distilled fresh water, I also think that it was getting a little to much water so fixed that as well. but thanks tony!

probably shouldn't have fed your seedlings... they dont need food till their cotelydons fall off.

Yeah? i have it on half strenght for its age right now which is 1/8th a tsp of each, then 2 drops of ST its not much and its not really getting any of it anyway since its roots haven't grown down.

they dont need nutrients till their baby leafs fall. giving them nutes now will just increase the chances of overfert

oh, chunk the superwhatever as well. It'll kill em. No need. Newbes always want to Add something they read....root this,,,Booster,,Ebson salts and your starten day one. Hope you have back up seeds. simple....no nuts for 2 weeks. Learn a good watering plan, light distance and air curculation.

so its been 5 more days and it still hasn't grown any, but it look perfectly healthy, why won't it grow. the whole root part is light brown/tan. could i cut the root of and dip it in some cloning solution??

idk man, i've been growing cat nip in a different dwc and recently i have been adding a lil ST and it is just going nuts, i've never seen it grow like this lol, ill have to do a few experiments on my cannabis clones to see, but as of now my plant is growing strong so all is good:)

I'm currently nursing a seedling that had a broken stem and lots the roots. What finally seemed to work for me was to stop checking the roots - light and whatnot can do more harm. I watched the leaves turn yellow more and more, but I also started to see signs of new growth above ground. Keeping it humid and frequent misting with pH'd water seemed to help too - without roots, the plant was thirsty too.

yeah man very true, i was so paranoid i kept checking to see if new roots were growing, and when i saw a new root starting to grow, just messing with the plant slightly killed the new root growth, i eventually left it alone and now its working on its new pair of leaves :)
