Seedling in Rock Wool.

Hey guys just wanted to know what everybody thinks of this seedling and if it looks good i have such a hard time getting my seeds to grow, that this is the only one that i had sucess with. I have transferred it to 4 inch Rock Wool as soon as i saw a root pop outta the bottom of the inch cube. I am feeding with sensi grow A & B with a little bit of Jump Start in their.
The ppm is at 250 and PH is at 5.6.This seedling is about 2 weeks old. Oh and if anybody has any watering tips for me that would be great, i am just hand watering right now dipping it once a day.

For watering tips i would recommend a submersible pump, can be relatively cheap too. So you can auto-water, although this means you need a 5 dollar timer from eBay. But all is worth it in the long run cause you can never miss a beat ya. Good luck friend.

oh and that crinkling on the sides of your leafs either mean it is gettin too cold or your plant is trying too hard to reach the light. What lights you workin with and how close are they?

it could be too cold i have a fan blowing on it to strengthen the stem although since it first broke the surface the stem has been thick so i could probably get rid of the fan, I have a 400 watt MH just over 2 feet above the top of the seedling. Im gonna turn off that fan this little beauty has loved being in warmth since germinating it is a Blueberry X Skunk #1. I already have a pump and res and everything else ive done this before i just dont want to overwater this thing and kill it, not to mention it will only need probably a once a day watering so i can just do that by hand.

Damn sounds like a great strain and a good light friend. You only have one goin damn man, with that light. You could have a bunch, make sure to take clones before budding so you can bud the clones at the same time and get hella more bud. Best o luck mate.

The seedling looks pretty good, it does sound like you have a good light, so hopefully its a SHE, and you can clone off her. If you only have one, and you are gonna need to cone, i would personally start thinking about toping it at 6-8 inchs to start to bush it out, and get you more sites to clone from. Just a thought, looks like a good start!

That sounds like a good idea topping it off at like 8 inches or so. My light is wicked 22 x 22 glass sealed with 6 inch inline venting dont have it hooked up right now just the light, with a fresh conversion mh vegging bulb, i can see the third set coming outta the top now, i have had like 10 seeds this is the only one that popped up and survived the rest would die shortly after surfacing. Must have been bum seeds cause i raise these things with more attention than my kids get lol! what a waist of $100 bucks next time im trying nirvana. What height would you guys say above the seedling. I was starting to wonder about the wrinkling on the leaves. The seeds are feminized

A metal halide eh, I would go a good foot or two above the plant, but watch the leaves if after a couple hours or a day they don't turn back to normal then raise the light a bit and check to make sure you are watering or not watering too much =)
Keep me updated I love watching things grow.

It may have been the seeds, from the people that i've talked to feminized is over rated, but $100 for feminized is a hell of a price. I payed $80 for 10 K.C. Brains # 36 none fem. I had 90% germ rate in soil plugs, and 6 of the 9 were females.
Did you add nutes to the fresh sprouts? If so that might have to do with them not growing, I've read that you should wait at least a week and a half to two weeks before fertilizing. I'm with mister nice guy on the lights, 18-24 inchs to start, and watch them the first couple hours make sure they don't burn. Since you have an air cooled light, you may be able to run it closer then that, just keep an eye on them when you adjust it.

Yea thundercat (love the name, snarf snarf) got the right idea, shouldn't feed any nutes at all for the first three weeks cause it feeds from itself for a bit and the light.
There are even strains that don't need any nutes at all or you will burn them like bad.
Should do a journal too thundercat!

i dont have the venting or exhaust fan set-up on the reflector yet but was thinking about it tonite. One question i still need answerd is how often should i be watering? the cube is 4 inch i usually wait till i go to bed than dip the cube flat into the nute solution about 1 inch up the cube, the solution is 200 ppm sensi grow a & b. So once a day really . i feel the top of the cube and it is a little moist, but i gues it is better for the bottom to be moist so the roots seek the water. When i was germing the seeds i only used hydrothrive by DNF which is very similar to Superthrive, On a different round i used jump start from Advanced Nutrients. This seed was germed using hydro thrive and it really took off. I am going to try a different Strain that i got as well Purple Haze so i will keep a mother from each and keep them going.

I will deffinatly get a journal up when I get my next real grow going. What i've got now was just some bag seed, that I started indoors, and transplanted to the woods earlier this summer. I havn't even looked at them in like 2 months, they might have gotten eaten by deer lol. Not too worried about it. Just movd though, and now I have a HUGE basement. :) we'll see what I get to do!
Thundercats hoooo! lol

From the things that i've read Hydrochronic, Rockwool holds water pretty well, and when its wet its very heavy, and very light when dry. If it feels heavy at night maybe wait till morning. I'm not 100%, but I believe that it is better the water when your lights are on so that the plants are soaking it up while they do most of there growing. I think that it is best to alternate between nute feedings, and just water, to help prevent any over fertilizing, or nute burn, but that may depend on the type of system you have, and the nutes you use.

Sorry about the multiple posts. Honestly I think that the nutes when you germ could be a big part of that problem, try germing half of the next batch with nothing but water for the first 2 weeks, and see what happens.

Glad the last one turned out good, mine went over really well too, what strain were you using? I had a K.C. Brains #36 not the most top notch seeds, but they were way fucking better then any bag seed I've found. If you've got an ebb and flow table, I would clone that baby out(when ready), and forget about seeds for now. Keep us updated can't wait to see her grow!

i had the seeds when i had my other clones in flowering but never thought that it was going to be this hard to start seeds and i paid top dollar for these fem seeds.Really pisses me off that i went through that many seeds and only one surviver but it looks like she is going to be very robust. I will grow this one and keep as my mother for more clones. I am going mostly keep it under t5 or t8 flouros to make it not grow as fast.

Hey guys one thing i just noticed is that i lightly squeezed some water outta my cube and it was reading like 7.2 i know this is not good but it is still doing okay. do i just continue to water it with my ph'd nute water at 5.5 or flush them out with pure RO water? I soaked those damn cubes and everything too, could be the plain RO water though cause it would be neutral.

I wish I could offer some insight, but I havn't done any hydro yet. I'm still tryin to learn all the little details. I'm glad you asked that ? though, it'll be good to learn the answer!
