Seed Starting Problems

So Five days ago from today I put all my marijuana seeds in sunleave starter plugs and then put those plugs in soil and left plenty of room to put more soil on top to sturdy up the wimpy stems. But anyways the point of this post is to say that they haven't sprouted yet! Is this normal for 5 days 18/6 under lights? I feel like they should have sprouted by now,

ALSO - I watered the sunleave plugs inside the soil with the seeds in to get everything wet then i havent watered it since. I know this stage requires patience but I feel like I should drizzle some water over them a little bit. Thoughts?

Jyst leave them alone. (I know. . It's hard to). But over watering is very easy to do in the early stages.

Questions:
What are your temps? (Lights on and off.)
Did you pre-germ?
Type of water & ph?
Are the plugs in a propagater?

not so sure about temps as theres no thermometer in there but its in the basement where the furnace is constantly kicking so I know its warm enough plus when I open the grow box its not the least bit cold in there. I did not pre-germ just simply put those bad boys in the plugs - got this idea from https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=53792 - and didnt bother with the ph but the water is well water and if its chlorinated its not bad because their seeds and they need bacteria to be killed off them correct? And the plugs are in the soil i mentioned. Thanks for the response man, greatly appreciated.

I've personally always had success pre-soaking seeds for a night in RO water, the planting in solo cups in soil that is premoistened, place on a heating mat and hang a t5 a few inches above them I've gotten nearly 100% germination rates like this usually with sprouts above ground in as little as three days. Happy growing Fin!

but since you already planted them leave them be as slide said if they are viable seed they should sprout if not maybe try the method i mentioned above good luck man :)

Ill post back after a few days with the germination results if these bitches sprout :( very good seeds though from good breeders - should be fine

simple method that always works for me is... let seeds soak in a cup of water until you see them crack (forget what the book of bible says, they arent going to drown just make sure to take them out once the root is visible) place the seeds in a moist paper towel and put them inside a plastic bag to maintain moisture. i leave them inside the paper towels until the seed casings comes off. with this method im able to check on them and make sure they are sprouting.
to plant, soak rockwool and split it in half, gently hold the seedling by the top and sandwich it with the rockwool. works every time
good luck

Some people "score" the seeds by taking a piece of emery board and cutting it into small pieces and then placing the pieces into a small container, such as a match box. Then the seeds are shaken in the box with the pieces of emery board for a few seconds before you go onto the next step, either the wet paper towel, direct planting or what ever method you like.

The "scoring" helps to chafe the outer shell and the theory is it makes it easier for the seed to pop. You might consider this as a preliminary thing to try. Good luck.

this is all good information if i hadn't already planted them. I appreciate the methods but honestly its not really needed at this time.

Dude dig those bad boys up and see whats going on...you won't hurt anything...my feeling is you may have buried them too deep.....all seeds need to germ is warm moist soil...a heat/germination mat helps. Scarifying isn't necessart with Cannabis seeds. I applaude you for planting in soil but I dont use plugs as they have a tendancy to dry out.
