Seed question

Wait, what?

Planted 4 seeds and two came out fine, but the other two, the root was what came out of the soil. At least I assume it was the root, because the hull is on the other end. I replanted them sideways under a 1/4 inch of dirt and am hoping they're not screwed. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do?

They're in organic potting soil

yeah, this happens from time to time, dig them up carefully and replant the correct way, which it sounds like you've done, and they should be fine.. always so weird when they do this.

Ah, just checked and they're popping out the right way. I hope the root being exposed didn't hurt them. Don't know how long they were like this. Woke up to it

next time you sow your seeds, make a little hole with a pen or pencil drop the seed in and make sure the pointy tip of the seed is down. you should see the round bottom not the tip before you cover with soil. I like to place my seeds at 3/4" down, this makes sure the tap root has time to push deep down into the soil before it popps up. good luck

good soil to start off with.! once they pop and u about to transplant., add some organic root hormone(powder) with the soil but be careful on the watering because its real easy to over fertilize and easy to under water them. once they tilt more than twice., they will die. lol i know because i have done it before
