You can't really.. Cannabis evolved from monoicious plants.. Male/Female is relatively new to them.. They still have the DNA required to revert back, and various stressors cause them to do that.. Stress also increases random mutations in DNA replication which copies over into seeds (possibly mutating further) and mutations can cause stress.. Its a vicious cycle..
(By stressor I mean internal mutation that may be enough to force male expression without environmental stress, or just make the plant less resistant to [certain] external stresses..)

...Does the pollinated bud continue to grow as it matures?...Does it swell like the rest of the unseeded bud?...if " pollinated 2-3 weeks into flowering" will the size of the mature pollinated bud differ vastly from those that are not pollinated?....

So in your journal you mention polinating pre-flowers, could you elaborate on that a little more? any special treatment?
at what point is a plant sexually mature and ready to receive pollen?

they continue to flower just as they normally would. the buds will be the same and as big, they will just have seeds in them.

i believe any hair can be pollinated. or at least attempted to be. once that hair is poking out i feel it is ready to receive pollen.

I just wanted to say thank you Fdd2blk for the tutorial because I just harvested 200 extremely healthy seeds. I can honestly say they look better than the seeds I recieve from reputable seed banks. Thanks again!

yes when you make your own seeds you will discover there bigger and healthier than what you receive from most banks. they dont try real hard and sometimes ship seeds that they should not like the little micro seeds wtf..

I dig the tiger striped seeds !! They look VERY healhy !! and look like a good strain .. some of the best Sativa I've seen has a mottled apperance .. u know what I'm talkin' about ? Does the strain have a name ? Do you name your strains ? how many have you done ? (sorry if this question has been answered above ) Just started .. but will finish reading the whole thing .. eventually

Haha yeah the small ones or the lightly colored ones that look like they were plucked way too early.

I haven't grown any of my own seeds yet. Would you guys say that homemade seeds grow bigger and healthier plants or about the same?

big healthy fully mature seeds grow healthy plants whether home made or purchased. when you make your own you can always make sure there big and healthy.

Some of my best plants came from retardo seeds that I didn't even expect to pop.. Other nice plants came from nice seeds..

I have noticed this as well, the seeds i got got from a friend locally, were much larger than the seeds i received from a big overseas seed bank.
