Seed Isn't Growing/Sprouting? Help Please!

Ok so I successfully germinated 3 seeds, 2 were Dinafem Haze Auto and 1 was a Dinafem Blue Hash seed (freebies I got from Attitude). I put the 2 germinated Haze's in starting mix I got from meijer on the 22nd and the Blue hash in the starting mix on the 27th. I soaked the starting mix before hand (had it in a clear solo cup with holes), let it sit for 15 mins then put the seed in (did this for each of them) covered it with a plastic bag then put them in my tent with the light cycle at 18/6. None of the seeds have sprouted yet so I was worried and took one of the Haze auto's and moved some of the starting mix around and found the seed and it hadn't grow at all since I germinated it. So the only thing I can really think of is maybe the starting mix isn't working for them??? I don't know I need some help!!!!

The ingredients say sphagnum peat, horticultural vermiculite, perlite, wetting agent, and lime for ph balance.

seeds can sometimes take up to a month to germinate ( but not usually ), I just planted so white widow beans from 2 different breeders gh and unknown and it took greenhouse seeds like 3 days to pop and the other ww 20 days but the did eventually pop. I germ in promix which in my opinion works quite well for seedlings and cuttings..

@max316420--Wow a month,I did`nt know that. But is late germination a sign of a weak plant or does it make no difference?

to be honest I'm not quite sure about that but i don't really think so. I know of different plant seeds that i guess take like 6 months to germ. I used to grow Legends ultimate indica and killed my moms so had to plant new seeds, so i seem to remember them taking like 3 weeks to germ and those plants turned out awsome.. 1/4 lb per plant and it was one straight cola...good shit man lol

Here is what i do and it sounds like ur using a form of promix which i use to germ. Get your cups that your gonna use, pack your mix down good but not too much, poke a hole with a marker about 2 inches down, drop your seed in there and mist gently until water is coming out the bottom, take plastic wrap and put it over the cups rubberband it and put them in a dark warm place. Check daily until they pop. taaadaaa... that method gives me just about a 100% germ rate and you know what they say if it ain't broke then don't fix it hehe

My 2 cents man, germinate in the dark. Put your cups with soil and your seeds .5in below soil surface, in a box with total darkness, i use a pepsi case with a towel over the top, with a seedling heat mat under. Im just getting to the vegging stage on my first grow but i have germed 8 seeds so far, most of which i ditched cause i had to get rid of my grow in a hurry, but i had 100% germination of those 8 with this method. They all popped and were .5-1inch tall in 4-5 days. when your ladies show themselves THEN put them under the lights on 18/6. And just so you know successful germination is getting them to pop, putting water on seeds and putting them in soil is not successful germination. Not trying to be high and mighty i just may have misunderstood your post, but i dont think so. Best of luck an have fun man!

Im pretty sure late germination just happens cause of genetics blowpipe but after two weeks or so that may be seed quality or germ method coming into effect?!?! not sure.

Did your clear cups get too hot one day by chance?
'
That definitely could have been a possibility because at first I was working out some ventilation problems and hit would hit 90-95 sometimes but I would always open it up to cool it off.

Maybe that is the reason they weren't sprouting. I will definitely try your guys methods at it, and I did think that successful germination was when you got the taproot to come out of the shell. I planted the blue hash one when the taproot was about 1/4 inch long. So successful germination is when the taproot emerges, you plant it, water it, and then it sprouts correct? and then at that time you put it under the 18/6 light

right ok i see now, like i thought i may have misread ur post, i just always drop the bean in the moist soil without doing the bag trick, but ya man that should work too the only think i would do is keep em in the dark till they actually sprout... but u should be good.

What kind of soil do you use? I have FFOF but I'm waiting to use that till I transplant them into 3 gallon pots.

FFOF baby, but i used MG potting soil before, its crap but works just fine for germing so whatever should work fine man. FFOF preferably.

So I should use the FFOF right from the get go? I heard that it has to many nutes in it for seedlings

i had one in FFOF and one in MG potting, the MG ones all burned while the FFOF.... so maybe but not in my experience.

my experience so far with ffof is that its awsome but not for babies.. I had some ww babies that i transplanted from promix after they sprouted and they got a little burnt. Contrary to what people say I believe that its a little strong for the youngin's. I always germ in promix and works great, try getting a small bag of it for germing and then transplant after a couple of weeks into your ffof. The pic in my avatar is a clone that is about 2 weeks old from rooting, they are now exploding in growth.

Well, I did another seed your guy's way so hopefully it works!

Side note; I tossed one of the haze and the blue hash since I dug down a little bit and found the seed and root hadn't grown anymore. The other haze though, was about to break the surface and looked like it had 2 tiny leaves growing so I kept that one.
