Seed germinating w/o a shell?

I had some bagseed just laying around and I decided to take one apart.
I took the shell off and revealed the embryo.
Next I put the embryo in a wet paper towel. I threw it on the counter thinking it was already dead. I looked at it this morning and here is what I saw.

My camera isn't that good, but u can kind of see the cotlydons and the root tip.
What do u all think? It's kind weird hey... That would be cool if it makes it...

Thanks for stoppin in Smokeh... Not going to grow it, just an experiment to see if it's possible to take the embrio out and then germinate it... So far looks like it may work.
I'm not recommending this as a good method at all, just kind of neat to do.

did u use tweezers?

i had a super silver haze seed, feminised (my fave strain) last grow, i tried to germ it 3 different ways before giving up.

wish i had seen this b4...

I used a mini needle nose pliers, but a tweezer would probably work better...
What I did was held the seed with the pliers on the rim where one half of the seed meets the other. Once i got a good grip on the seed I applied a small amount of pressure until i heard a crack. Then set the seed on a wt paper towel, I took a pin head and picked off of the outer shell. I'm thinking if you would just crack the seeds open and not pull the shell completely off results may be better, I'm going to try that with my next seed that doesnt sprout.

Well, the seedling is done germinating and is ready for a medium. I'm amazed that this has worked, I think it will make germinating just about any seed that would have prior to this been discarded.... I did something similar to this to 5 Strawberry Diesel seeds that I have been trying to germ for 4 days. The only thing I didn't do was remove the shell, I just cracked them open with a needle nose and 4 of 5 are now in rockwool after 24 hours.

Here is the seedless seedling today...
