Hello fellow riusters, I've been planning an attic attempt but due to temps I'm growing stealth in an old Antec Lanboy Midtower. I will be growing Green House Seeds Jack Herer in a dwc setup.
As far as the case design i wanted something that i could control temps and could have somewhat stealth. I gutted my pc case starting with the rivets, i used a drill to do exactly that drill them out. I used leftover mylar from another project and covered the back panel. The rest of the case is covered in foil tape, it was easier to hide the wires and its very forgiving stuff to work with. The ventilation consists of a 120mm and 80mm fan on the front running off a 7.4 battery charger. The rear exhaust and carbon filter is a 2" net pot in a 3" net pot surrounded by carbon and wrapped in pantyhose. The fan blowing out is an Antec three speed 12v fan, its set on high and provides sufficient airflow. The 70w hps is in a hurricane shade (its made for candle decorations) with two 80mm 12v fans, one intake and one exhaust. The lights ballast and igniter are ontop of the computer. I will be using 24/0 until i get growth then switch to 12/12.
I'll be growing Jack Herer in a 6qt rubbermaid container with two small airstones and a 23w airpump in R/O water. I will be LSTing, fimming and Scrogging. I will flower 12/12 from seed due to lack of grow space and for the advantage for speed. For nutrients I'm using Techaflora's recipe for success.
Yesterday I placed Miss Herer in between two plates and a moist paper towel. I set her ontop of my receiver. Today I checked it to find a nice tap root poking its way into the world. I placed a growdon cube into PH'd (5.5) R/O water and added a drop of Root66 (~60ppm). After soaking it I planted Miss Herer. Temps are at 75 all is looking great.
