Hey guys just looking for some feed back on what cheap and crazy simple tweaks you guys can recommend to improve setup. As I don’t have to much time to invest into my growing. Just trying to get get yeilds up a bit.

What I’ve been using.
Minimal lighting
2 massive Led floodlights, pumping out around 100 Watts.
4 cfls hanging around room 13 Watts each
Fan to circulate air.

-Soil. Promix mixed 50/50 with a home made nutrient mix made of top soil, blood and bone meal, Dolomites lime, Epsom salts, extra perlite, and worm castings.

-For nutrients I was using miracle grow intermittently when I noticed plants struggling with more than dryness. (Soil kept plants happy mostly)
-added good ole molasses and some maple syrop during flowering (I’ve heard maple syrop is a less complex sugar so easier for plants to absorb and turn into carbs)
-Started with 10 gsc, and 1 bubba of all seedlings from bagseed.
-around 3 days put in solo cup. Then moved to small pots around 1 month veg. Around 1.75 month transplanted then flipped lights.

I’m at around a month veg now, looking to harvest in around a month. Once plants are ready.

I also have one bigger plant in the pictures which was outside on a porch in the sun but still tended to. 38B3546C-28E9-414A-A1BE-D2DDA336AC07.jpeg83EB24D6-5C67-47AC-A7F9-67C01D1A3A96.jpegED87096A-D59C-490D-A70C-1DA0A5C450CE.jpeg

Plans for next grow less plants more like 6. Veg for longer more like 3 months. I’d like suggestions for nutes because the only areas I really wanna switch up are nutes and soil I don’t have money for lights.

Where are you growing? Out in the open? In a tent? In a small enclosed room?

I would invest in a tent, they are great. Then get a decent light. I am just trying led's for the first time really so I cannot recommend any currently. I have been using a 400W hid, metal halide during veg and switching to hps for bloom in a 4x4 tent. Last grow I added 2 90W led ufo's as supplement which seemed to help. I got 20 oz's out of 4 plants in a little under 4 months from seed last grow.

I start out in solo cups, transplant into 1 gallon pots at 2-3 weeks depending on how they are looking. Then about 2 weeks later they go into 5 gallon buckets and then start 12/12 a couple of days later after I know they have adjusted to the transplant.

I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil with perlilte. Get some good nutrients, I use Fox Farms Grow Big during veg and for the first 2 weeks or so of 12/12 for the big stretch. Then I switch to Fox Farms Tiger Bloom. Use a bit of molasses and epsom salts also.

Your expectations on harvest are a bit optimistic. Depending on the strain can take anywhere from 12-20 weeks of 12/12 before they are ripe for harvesting. They will not be ready in a month under any circumstances.

And if you want to grow good smoke, don't rely on bagseed. You might get lucky and get results, or you might get unlucky and get crappy weed nothing like the bag it came from. Invest a little money in quality seeds from some place like Nirvana Seeds or The Attitude Seedbank, you won't look back once you've got your first batch from those companies. And if you are on a small scale with little time the guaranteed female seeds are a godsend.

Yousay your next grow you will veg for 3 months? You better have some 1000W hps lamps and a 12ft tall room for them to grow in.. I veg mostly indica which stay smaller for about 4 weeks till 12 inches, they finish at a bout 40-48 inches. The plants will usually about triple in size during bloom.

Not really gonna be able to increase yields until you have added more light. I mean technically you could perfect your current setup and put up reflective surroundings but that's not going to be a huge difference in yield. I mean even adding another 5 or 10 23w cfls would make a considerable difference. The other factor is longer veg time but again, if your limited on light you can't veg them for very long.

As above says light is key if you can keeps temps under control get yourself a 600w hps for flower and metal halide for veg, I use a tent to grow in 2.4m x 1.2m x 2m with 2 x 600w hid lights and huge air extraction to keep temps under control.
I only veg for 4/5 weeks so plans are 12 to 16 inch when i flip 12/12 any taller and i run out of room plus being in a rdwc system roots get too big and block my recirc.

Anyway in soil/coco with just a 600w light and good temp controls i could get 5 to 6 oz a plant on a 4 plant 1.2m x 1.2m tent setup but this took me a few years of tweaking to make them yields reliable.
Light and temps pal get them right and you will be happy, again as Kerovan above says get some good plants/genetics to grow, BUT be VERY careful with the seeds market as its a minefield of shit seeds and sub-human beings trying to part you from your cash in exchange for crap genetics.

Maybe look at female seeds as they have some good genetics and are very reasonable on price, i've just finished bubblegummer and blueberry cheesecake from them and both are great,The blueberry cheesecake pulled me 9.78oz off one plant so really please with it and it stinks real good too.

Happy Growing

Thanks very much my main thing is going to have to be lighting then no matter what. I had been holding off because I didn’t want to spend around 150-200 to get between 2 and 400 Watts.
But I just did a quick Kijiji search and found there’s lots of reasonably priced metal halide hid’s, and hps’ On there so i’ll be doing that for the next grow.

I've been growing in a small closet I think I will stay there for growing because I have painted the room with a white gloss paint that’s resistant to water, mold, terpenes and other nice things.

There also is a hydroponic store 15 minutes away so if I have any leftover budget i’ll drop it on some nutes

I see leaf miner damage.
Your definitely right there. The first leaf damage pics are most likely from a lack of potassium during the beginning of flower as I completely forgot to switch nutes when I flipped the lights.
There’s no clear pictures of it but on the plant I put outside I noticed a strange pattern along one growth set of leaves. Basically it looked like a ring of leaves around the plant had been burnt about one inch in from the top on every leaf. It created a really weird effect and I had done nothing to the plant to change the conditions and it grew normally again from there on out. Any ideas?
I’ll take a couple pictures and they’ll be up in a little bit

Leaf miners are bugs that someone else will need to describe what to do to fix it, if it should be fixed while flowering. Someone else should also confirm they see what I see. It is most notable in the 4th picture. I didn't read everything here and didn't know if it was discussed above so I wanted to point it out. Look close at your leaves with a magnifying glass and you will see black dots next to the silver trails. On the underside with a 60x hand held scope you would probably find the larvae if it is what I think it is.

People will hate on me for saying this but multiple people have proven that even cheap blurple leds can be effective in small closet grows for multiple reasons. One 450w viparspectra only my pulls 200w. But covers a 2.5 x 2.5 area. You might not get the fattest buds but you can still grow some good quality DENSE buds. You won't have to worry about heat or extreme venting. Not saying it's the best route but if your on a budget say fuckit. With a 400w hps, that can create quite a bit of heat and in the small of an area it will most likely need to be exhausted with an inline fan. Not sure what ur budget is but that's the best route obviously

Looked over the leaves and went at the badly damaged ones with my scope. No signs of any larvae or anything of the likes thankfully

I hope you are right. I feel about 99% sure you have them. Let's be hopeful I am wrong. Take a few pictures of the plant in the 4th picture. The one I'm showing. With some good pictures of the leaves others will see it too. Hope I'm wrong.

So basically right after my last post I did some more looking into types of cannabis pests and your 100% right I have thrips "gulp". Thank you very much for the spotting of it in the pictures. It got to the point yesterday where I saw so many spots it had to be a nutrient deficiency or a pest and rollitup guys usually give the best advice.
So after realizing it was thrips and seeing the little a**holes. I looked into home pest remedies. Using the spiciest peppers I could find, I boiled those in some water added 2tbsp of olive oil, 2 tbsp of vinegar, and 2 tbsp of an all natural soap to make home made "imsecticide"
I applied to the bottom of as many leaves as I could by using a piece thin cardboard to absoard and deflect the spray away from the nugs. This morning I notice considerable less bug. And am gonna reapply tonight. I did a regular water foliar spray today to clean off any residual "insecticide" humidity is currently floating between 50 and 60 so I'm not worried about mild with the air circulating.

I've also decided after this harvest I'm going to hold off to grow again until I can obtain some more formal lighting so than my time is more rewarded and less embarrassing for me.
