Second Grow : Wanted to see what you think

This is my second grow. The first time I had a grow I used seeds from a friend who said they were a good strain. They were dark with black stripes on the sides. I also borrowed his 400w hps light. But enough about that grow. I wanted to ask you how you think I am doing so far with my current grow.

I just purchased a light from bghydro.com

600W HPS Grow Light Systems > 600 HPS EconoGro Grow Light System | Sun System

I also purchased seeds from Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds. Below is the link for the exact seeds I purchased.

Buy Big Bud marijuana cannabis seeds from Holland.

I plan to use some sort of potting soil when I first put the germinated seeds inside a small solo cup.

After they grow out of that small container. I found it to be pretty easy to use 5 gallon azalea buckets I found at walmart. I also continued to use Miracle Gro soil on my last grow, I think I might try an organic soil this time.

Based on my light wattage increase and some basic knowledge from my last grow. Do you think I am heading in the right direction for a good successful grow? Any tips and pointers on what type of soil and what nutrients I should pick up. I dont want to order things like nutrients online, Id rather go to Home Depot or something, so if you can reommend anything to me please do.

What do you think about that strain. How many grams do you think it will yield with a light like mine.

Don't use 5 gallon buckets with a 600 watt light. The root system has to get to big and flowering can be delayed. VV

I'd say if you really love your plants you can get 300- 400 grams of buds, it depends on how long you veg though.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think the general rule of thumb is to let the plants stay in veg for about 60 days and to allow anywhere from 4-6 weeks or more for flowering. Until most of the pistils change color correct?

you could switch from veg to flower whenever you feel content, most ganja I've heard of usually takes 6-10 weeks to get good nugs. I like to harvest when 75% of pistils change because that usually coincides with 50% to 75% of trichromes being cloudy. I'd say that letting it veg for 60 days will definitley pay off on the yeild though.

Thanks Wordz on your help. Any comments on what I should use for soil, that I could pick up at Home Depot or somewhere like Walmart? I am pretty familiar with using Miracle Gro Potting Soil. On my last grow it seemed to have worked pretty good. But then again that was my first grow...
