Second grow 8 x 26w CFL

Hello fellow CFL growers. This is my 2nd attempt at growing weed ever; so any advice would be appreciated, although it all seems fine to me so far. I have grown many other plants but never weed and it seems pretty easy compared to many other plants.
I am growing one Autoflower feminized Blueberry from Dutch Passion seeds and it is exactly 30 days old today from germinated seed.
I have found that 8 x 26w 2700k CFL lights seems to be a good number of lights for this plant and gives me a total of just over 200 watts all added up which from what I have read should be ample for one plant.
I have cool air blowing in from the bottom of my cabinet (which is 2ndhand and cost 10 euros :) using a 120mm computer fan and up top I am just using a small 60mm fan (I think thats the size) and it is to exhaust the hot air. So nice cool roots but lots of heat up top around the apical bud. I have had a few heat issues, as 8 x CFLs will still give off plenty of heat but a little tweaking with the fans and it is now very easy for me to raise or lower temps from use of adjustable speed settings on both fans.

I found making reflectors for the CFLs to be a waste of time as the light just reflects of the walls anyway as the cabinet is not that big. Being able to adjust the lights to be totally surrounding the plant seems to be crucial for fast large bud development I can raise or lower or move foward, back, left, or right with each of the 8 lights so each part of the plant has a good light coverage and also allows access to the sides of the buds not just the top.

I had read that you should keep the bulbs 1 inch away from your plants. This seems too close to me , perhaps with just 4 x CFLs you can get away with it but I tried that last night instead of my usual 2-3 inches and the leaves were starting to wilt from the heat...it was not lack of water or ventilation just too close, people saying 1 Inch are taking them too close I reckon. My plant tells me what is a good distance...just listen to your plant it will give you good or bad signs if the light is too close or too far away that seems to be the best strategy working for me .

The yellow marks on my leaves are sweat that I dripped over my plants when trying to wire up the bulbs after making some changes, just goes to show that the leaves are quite sensitive! I have used very very little nutrients thus far, about 8ml of bio liquid nutrient in 30 days, weed does not need much food it would seem in pre flowering state.
I will increase the nutrient addition as the flowers start to fatten.

I will keep this updated on a weekly basis from now on and post pics etc. I hope this will help some other first time growers that may be struggling. This entire set up cost me less that 160 euros to make and that's including the seed.

Nah zo0t have not touched it at all, I have germinated the seed, put it straight into this 5L container with a very loamy cactus soil and 30 days later this is what it looks like. no topping no LST no scrog just let it be free :) All I have done is removed the two fan leaves at the bottom, all the rest is just adjusting the light to the right height on a daily basis to make sure it stays nice and bushy and healthy. Just 6 more weeks of flowering now (as it is an autoflower) and I expect the buds to fatten out nicely in that time. the plant is 30 cm in height and this strain will grow to about 80 cm I think in total if you let it. Not sure how much more the buds will stretch out...a bit more but not much...I just want em to get fat :)

Yeah Bshbloke I hope you are right about the 6 inches of bud, I put the lights about 2 inches all around the plant yesterday instead of 1 and it liked it a lot more, no sunburn today. I think you are right I am sure it differs from strain to strain and as this is a feminized autoflower they may a bit more sensitive to light proximity. Sure somebody on here knows...anyway looking good for now and Iwill try again to move the lights into 1 inch as the buds develop over the next few weeks and see what happens.

Well today I went a bit nuts!! I cant find the right fittings I would like to use at my local hardware store. The CFLs are just not gonna cut it as they are for bud development, I could piss around with them a bit more putting them on a 45 degree angle etc to provide more usable light or order online some higher watt cfls 55 watt or so.
But the simple fact is that I will need to change my cfls often to keep em at max sunshines. So I have not so much admitted defeat more I just want fat fucken buds! And a 250w HPS with a cool tube in my cabinet seems the way for me. I tackled the cabinet today with my new idea with a fair amount torrent of swearing and sweating in a cramped room trying not to get shit everywhere as I struggle with tools designed for people with skills. The end result is not too bad though, temps are just manageable (no way in summer though but thats what the suns for) I will have to add an extra fan in the middle to help some of the air exhaust. The cool tube is working ok just using a 120mm pc fan pulling air out but I think I will be upgrading soon. However the next grow will be a scrog and I think this will be the most efficient way in a cabinet of this size.

Guess I am posting in the wrong place now with my HPS hehe :)

Yeah I hope I get some nice fat buds because right now it is currently costing waaaaay too much to buy weed, mmmm maybe I should grow tobacco too and brew beer then I will be totally supporting all of my habits. Think I will need a bigger place!

I had to modify the cabinet this morning. I placed the 120mm fan that I had blowing into the cab from the bottom now up top behind the light exhausting some of the trapped air, as it had climbed to 32 degrees overnight, not ideal! It has done the trick and it is now hovering around 28.5, I will go and buy a small fan today and place it on the floor to shift the air inside around a bit, that way I can move the plant up to the light a bit too avoid stretching....dont wanna run outta head room ^^

The nutrients I am using are just a bio liquid feed, I pipette a few ml each watering into 1 L of water when they begin to flower...before flowering I was using a bio veg nute same deal as the flower but I fed only once or twice in the entire veg state which is a whole three weeks .

Update: went an got a small fan but it turns out it is massive...dont know what I was thinking, anyway I macgyverd an 80mm with some wire aound a stick....I call it a lollipop fan :) it works great and moves just enough air to keep the plant a bit drafty...the other big one I bought would have gone hurricane katrina on my plants ass.

I also added some sticky foam tape around the edges to stop lightleak, just need to get some covers for the back exhaust fans to stop my sunshines escaping out the back. Other than that it is pretty much set and forget now :)
