Second Grow 150 Hps

Hello everyone, I am starting my second grow and my first journal. My last grow was mostly a success but the buds were airy, not very potent, and I was fightning heat problems the whole time. I was previously using the Rubbermaid tub set-up and now have a cabinet. I traded an obscene amount of cfl lightbulbs for a SunSystem 150 Hps. The growing medium is a peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite mixture. All comments are welcome as I am still learning.

Obviously still learning to post as well.

Growing nicely so far, 3 out of 4 sprouted and one is clearly a runt. This is a P.H. tester I picked up for 12 bucks and it has been very helpful. Hoping to get things sorted out with the cab before my TGA Deep Purple beans get here. It is still running a little hot 89 or so and the plants don't like it. If anyone has any experience with the Deep Purple strain feel free to post info here. Thanks.

Hey thanks a lot taurus85, I am hoping to replace the weak computer fans with something better. I'll lurk around here to find out what other people are using. So far I just crack the door every so often and the only plant problems I can tell so far is slight leaf cupping.

You will get it all working smooth, they don't look bad. That heat could slow down growth though.

Probably about to flip them although they haven't had time to show sex. One of them has slightly yellowing tips on the new growth. I haven't feed them anything yet because the peat had a little organic fert in it, so maybe it's time? I just got my Deep Purple and free Kannabia La Blanca fem beans I can't wait to try out.

I had to kill 2 of them as they turned male, the other has not shown sex as of yet. It is bagseed from mexican brick and is stretching like crazy. The lighting is 150 watt hps, the remaining plant is almost a month old and has been in 12/12 for 14 days. I have all but given up on these plants as they grow tall and have little to no resin production. My Kannabia La Blanca just sprouted (in less than 48 hrs. I might add) so I am hoping to have more luck with her. Just got my camera fixed so I will put up pics asap. Awesome 12/12 grow btw, I can't wait to grow out a white strain.

You won't regret it newatit, the difference in growth and flowering is huge, even with just a 150 watt. I think I paid 70$ plus shipping on Amazon, but now I would look into self-cooled hoods as it does tend to get hot in a smaller space.

The last plant is male, so back to the drawing board with the La Blanca that just sprouted. At least it is fem.

It's awful to hear that all three of them were male dude! But nice to see that you already have la blanca going Good luck with that one. I'm sure she'll love the hps.
