Seattle Hemp Fest

I am wondering if anyone has been to the Hemp Fest in Seattle...
Ive read up on it but am still skeptical as to what is permited there.

I plan on going next weekend hopefully, as it is only presented twice
a year...Aug. 19 should be awesome...

Ive checked out the site, but if anyone here has been, let me know
what can be brought in...I dont want to get busted for anything, and
dont know exactly what is accepted there...anyone?

I am originally from Seattle. I only left there two years ago.

The hemp fest is held at Gas Works Park on the Edge of lake Union. There are hundreds of people laying out on the Grass, Smoking Grass. There are venders, music, consession stands, And police walking around. The Cops know most everyone is smoking weed, and they can see it going on also. But they will not bust you unless you are being an IDIOT.

You will enjoy it, lots of fun.

Believe me. It is only at this festival that they look the other way. But do not smoke it in front of them blatantly.

i once went to a festival where everyone was smoking, fucking in public, people who passed out were being written on like they were a bathroom wall, all in the open, and cops didn't do shit. i felt like i was in a different country. Not much they can do when everyone is doing it. If they start arresting people a riot could break out. i just cut a small hole on the top of my jeans (like where the belt loops are attached to. this makes a nice pocket that goes all the way around your waist) and i managed to fit quit a bit in there.

We check for weapons, unauthorized vendables and alcohol at the chutes only. We are not required to nor do we confiscate marijuana. Medical Marijuana is perfectly legal in Seattle and I-75 makes simple posession the lowest of police priorities. Personal freedom is what our event is about. It is frankly, none of our buisness. Fear not, brave stoner, of front chute stashnapping.

Things you may not bring; dogs, brownies or other confections not proffesionally wrapped in numbers more than 6, alcohol, guns and knives.

Also, if you do bring the herb, don't bring more than you can reasonably smoke. Do not package it seperately. Personal use is none of our buisness. Unauthorized vending is. Do not buy or sell pot at Hempfest! That endangers the event and we are out to stop it.

Special focus will be paid to "goo balls", brownies etc. These confections can contain almost anything. Whether these are adulterated or not, the rumors are that they have contained heroin, PCP, LSD and others. Do they? There has never been any testing that suggested that this is any more than a rumor but the rumors are enough to cause us to take this very seriously. If we catch you selling brownies, you are out of the park.

We at Seattle Hempfest take the safety of the attendees very seriously. Yes, even the so-called Christians telling us we are going to hell. We disagree with the message but will defend to the death their right to say it.

One more thing, we are actually at Myrtle Edwards Park, Pier 70 on Seattle's world famous waterfront. We left Gasworks in 1994.

I fucking love Seattle!! IMO - One of the most pot friendly cities in the US.

As for Hempfest... Yeah, its a freakin blast! As long as youre not flaunting the fact that your smoking, then no one will bother you. BE CAREFUL about taking anything for free. Ive seen plenty of people eat brownies or cookies that were laced with extras. Unless you're Ok with the suprise, it can really ruin the day.

For those of you with dogs, dont bring them in without a little pack on their back. Its easier to sell to the guards that they're for "medical reasons" when they're assisting you with something.

Yea man with all my jeans I sew in a pocket on the inside with the fabric in the jeans that do nothing... It can fit almost an ounce without looking conspicuous...

Hempfest this year will be at Myrtle Edwards Park August 18 & 19th. Seattle has deprioritized marijuana in a city ordinance that restricts City Prosecutors from sentencing for personal use. Police precincts are instructed to not make an arrest for any amount less than 40grams.

In other words...Hempfest 2007 = PARTY TIME!!

so like what If a cop serches you and you have say an ounce and their like ohh look an ounce and than they just give it back and say be on your way sir???
has anyone ever smoked hemp... I know it dosent get you high... But it would make it easier to stop smoking... or to smoke when you dont have anything... does it taste the same???

The difference is in its use. Hemp and Marijuana both come from the same plant - Cannabis Sativa L. The term 'Hemp' commonly refers to the industrial/commercial use of the cannabis stalk and seed for textiles, foods, papers, body care products, detergents, plastics and building materials. The term 'marijuana' refers to the medicinal, recreational or spiritual use involving the smoking of cannabis flowers.

Industrial hemp contains only about 0.3% - 1.5% THC (Tetrahydrocannabinoids, the intoxicating ingredients that make you high) while marijuana contains about 5% - 10% or more THC.

i thought hemp was stems

hemp is a strain that has hardly any THC as dude said before... It grows the same and almost all of the plant can be used... stems for fibers leaves for paper and seeds for oil and other health products... not sure what hemp buds are used for... if it was real weed could be used for smoking... and could be sold for a hell of a lot more than rope T-shirts paper or oil... why dosn't the government or tobacoo company see this???

I dont know who all here lives in Seattle, but I live in the area and will be going this weekend. The cops dont care if you smoke but dont stand in front of them and blow smoke in their face..

I guess they counted the attendance on average is like 190,000 in the 2 days. LOTS of people lol.

Made my way up yesterday...there were so many
stoners. Lots of bud, but lots of damn leachers too.
There were cops everywhere. The only ones that
seemed to care were these prowlers. Everyone was trying to
blaze on the beach but these pigs would'nt leave.




Next one is only 6 months away...
