so swim has 27 ladies, O.G. Kush, Norhern Lights, Madness, Skunk Haze, Dumpster.
Swim currently has a 4'x4'x6'5" tent planning on building another one same size or a little bigger out of tarps or visquine reflective or just plain white i have yet to decide once i start running out of room. planning on vegging for 4 weeks i think.
Swim also has 2 phresh filters one is 4"x24" and the other is 4"x12". just bought a 8 inch inline with about 760 cfm . the question is should both of them be inside the tents or use the larger one to scrub the basement outside of the tents and buy a third in similar size to the smaller one and place two small one inside the tents and the large one on exterior. swim knows that the scrubber is very dependent on many things. Any thoughts? also currently running a 600 w mh planning on running the same in the other room . and then switching to a 1000 switching between rooms

also some of the girls leaves seem to be showing some weird coloring not sure if this is because they were clones and they might be shedding some leaves from clone shock or something...not sure. also they were showing the discoloration befor they were ever fed nutes. so its not nute burn.

The 4"x12" filter allows 200cfm of airflow to be used. A fan rated higher than 200cfm will cause smell issues when using this filter.

4"x24" I can't even find on PHRESH.

I can find 4"x20" so I'll assume this is the one.
Its the LoPro version at 125cfm. So a fan rated higher than 125cfm will cause smell issues.

You've just purchased an 8" inline fan with 760cfm.

If you could combine both of these filters you still wouldn't have enough filter CFM to effectively scrub the airflow of the fan.

With a 760 CFM fan you need the 8"x24" but to be more effective and last longer I would say the 8"x39".

You should match the filter CFM to your fans CFM.

Your fan CFM should NEVER be higher than the filter CFM.

maybe get a speed controller? and whoops the size is 6" x 24" 550 cfm. is there a way to measure CFM? and if i use the larger filter outside the two rooms will i be able to scrub the odor effectively of should each filter be inside with the girls?

Realistically a filter should be inside each area.

You won't be able to effectively use 2 filters rated differently with one single fan without a lot of work and dampers and air testing equipment.

In order to know the CFM you require to scrub etc you need the room dimensions of the area to be cleaned by the filter.

However just thought I would let you know that it looks like you have a mite infestation on attached pic1.

Here's a quick calculation for you to see how to size your fan. Then you just get a filter rated for more CFM's than your fan.

LxWxH = CuFt
CuFt + 15% for every open hood light. (5% if using air cooled lighting)
CuFt +20% = restrictions of a filter.

Add all this together to get your total fan CFM required to exchange the air and cool your lights.

Then if you have any bends in ducting 90 degrees etc will reduce fan efficiency by up to 20% so you either have to make duct runs as straight as possible or allow the extra CFM into your equation.

Then you need to know intake air temps in order to factor that into the equation.

Make sure you exhaust your air as far away as you can from the grow area so that the exhaust air isn't being recirculated back into the grow area, which can cause increases in air temp and stagnant co2 depleted air.

Then once your calculations are complete you will be left with a CuFt amount. Make sure filter is higher CFM's than your fan.
