SCROG Nets

I'm trying to get a scrog net in my DR60 (2x2). I can't find any damn net that you can just buy.. I don't know maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Do most people just make their own ? i'm thinking about just making one with some pvc piping and twine.

Anyone know if there is a real deal scrog net somewhere I can just buy tho?

I know people who have successfully used the mesh from a large fishing net before.

What you are looking for is something like a 1.5"x1.5" trellis screen.

You generally find them in 5m rolls that are 0.5m wide in most garden centres.

It's easy to build a frame out of either wood or pvc tubing with elbows and then simply use string and fix it to the frame with drilled holes or hooks of some sort.

If you use closed loop hooks to feed the string through so its all one piece you can just undo the last knot and then pull it all out at the end of the crop so the string can then be easily reused for the next crop.

Just make the square openings around 3" or thereabouts so that feeding the plant through is not too much of a problem and so that you don't damage the plant doing so.

If you buy a ready made net, removing the finished product may be a little more time consuming than if you had a quick release method like I mentioned.

Hope this helps.

I ended up making my own using pve pipe and clothes hanging line, it's pvc coated wire so it's smooth and strong.

1 thing I didn't really think of until right now is how I'm gonna water the damn plant with that screen on top of it like that.

Ideally you should have a +10" gap between the top of your pot and where the screen starts so that you can work/water under the screen.

How big do you guys usually make the holes, the squares in the netting.

I'm in a 2x2, right now I'm thinking about going with 2" 1/2 or 3" 'squares'.
