Hi all ive decided to do this experiment and bring you all in for the ride.
At the moment i have 10 seeds all germinating as we speak, Once all 10 are ready to take out i will put all the seeds under the exact same conditions changing only the things i want to experment on.
my setup is 600 watt HID assisted by 250 watt CFL Blue spectrum.
The lights are .5 to 1 metre away from the plants
Temperature ranges between 25 deg to 31 deg
Humidity range from 35% to 60% outside dome and 60% to 90% inside humidity dome
initial medium used is small rockwool cubes, about inch in diametre, then will be transplanted to Air pots which i believe are about 5 litres.
a basic NFT setup is to be used whilst in the rockwool medium.
nutrients to be used will be ionic grow,bloom and boost.
light cycle used will be 24/7 until flowering stage which will then be 12/12. A heater may be used during the 12 off period to keep tempature at optimal levels.
Things that i am experimenting on
For this experiment i will be testing the affects of magnets on plants and i will also be testing the affects of positive and negative thought.
7 of the plants will grow will normal and will be my controls. 2 of the remaining plants will have pieces of card next to them, one card saying "grow tall", and the other card saying "dont grow" each day when i check on the plants i will give positive thoughts to the plant with the grow tall sign and negative thoughts to the plant with the dont grow card.
with the remaining plant, i will simply place a magnet next to it.
what i propose will happen.
i propose the plant with the magnet next to it will grow faster than the controls.
i propose the plant with the positive card next to it will grow faster than the controls
i propose the plant with the negative sign card next to it will grow slower than the controls.
I understand that some of my seeds may germinate quicker than others. if there is a big difference then i will just use the seeds which all germinated in rufly the same time. Any seeds which germinated much quicker or later than the rest i will not include in the experiment thus i will have less control plants.
At the moment i havent got the magnet, it will be arriving in the post hopefully this week, and i need to get some batteries for my camera so i can take some photos.
oh and i will be using magnetised water on ALL my seeds, simply because i want to compare the results using magnetized water with other growers who dont use it, and ill be using it on all seeds so that my experiment is still valid.
To magnetize the water i will have a powerful magnet at the bottom on my water bucket, and will let the water set in the bucket for atleast an hour before using.
