School me please, indoor gurus!

Ok since my outside space is compromised im gonna try and get an indoor grow going. Little backstore- moved back with my folks when i hit hard times, mom is ok with me growing but said dont let my dad find out. Im trying to get a small grow going in my closet, and i plan on gettin a cabinet like from this thread https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/311817-ditty-makes-57-grow-box.html
and runnin a 150watt hps in it. ive got some auto fem ak47 beans on the way, should i try for one or two in that box? also is this a good light http://www.hidhut.com/catalog/150w-hps-digital-ballast-bulb-and-glass-tube-reflector-combo-p-409.html
lookin for something with a cooltube so the cooler it is the less ventilation fans ill ave to run. anyone think this setup sounds ok? would that 150watt hps still overheat a box that size? i know ive got a lot of questions but im brand new to indoor and im just tryin to grow a lil personal stash without gettin caught. all tips are appreciated!

He has CFL in there for a reason, that is a very small box. I have not seen a HID in box that small but, even with the cool tube and a fan to cool it, I'll bet that you could bake cookies in there.

Yea agreed. That box is too small to handle plants and the heat that light will give off. Wither the plants will burn or someone will smell melting plastic. Go the CFL route if you can swing it they won't mess up your temp and 10 of those is just a little shy of an HPS light... kinda ridiculous.

so how much space would i need to be able to have a 150w hps? im not limited to that small cabinet, but i need something somewhat small and inconspicuous so if my dad does stumble upon it, itll just look like a regular cabinet or something in my closet.

and if dads not supposed to know you better be ready for some serous venting and filtering. are you a hippie? can you get away with smelling like patchouli? theres a deodorizing liquid ive seen on urban grower, i forget the name of the product

kaleo whatever kind of cabinet i use i wanna put it in my closet. and yea i can use like febreze plug ins or burn incense and shit, but i cant really cut into the attic to vent like a lot of folks ive seen do. was planning on using a carbon scrubber, and only growing one or 2 plants at a time and the ak47 says it goes from seed to harvest in 70 days so hopefully it wont stink too too bad. im startin to think this shit is gonna be impossible with my restrictions.....

I really don't want to sound harsh but, don't grow in your fathers house. Wait till you get back on your feet and out on your own and make you a nice little system that will work. Until then, just buy you a little shwag to hold you over.

i appreciate that and all but seriously dude i know the risks, and im willing to take that just like everyone else on here growing. like i said, my mom is cool with it she just said dont let my dad find out. my dad never comes in my room so as long as its quiet and small ill be fine. back to the topic please
