hey SAY WORD....i saw you were using 3k cfl bulbs for vegging...you should change them to 6k daylight cfl bulbs they will make a drastic difference and will be better for the clones. and youll use less bulbs also.

How do you figure you will use less bulbs?
Your right about the daylight being better color for veg than a soft white (in the 3k range or so some I get don't say what it is) But If you can only get a daylight that is 26 watt or so you are still better off with a soft white that is 42 watt. The light intensity more than makes up for the color. The usable light travels farther with the higher watt. I've got 6 42's in a fixture and could not believe how high me light meter was even at a foot and a half away.

i stil dont know why you assume they're 3k bulbs, i bought them as veg bulbs and new what i was pickin out. but none of them say what they are, so i cant tell if hes right or not

In your last pics the one with the young plants in the cups. There is a yellow/orange tint from the bulbs. A sign it is a soft white. not daylight. Doesn't mean they are 3k though. could be a little higher or a little lower. If they were daylight range you would see the green on the plant a lot better. Mine don't say on the bulb what they are but I can tell when they are on what color range they are. My point there was that there was some false information there, and wanted you to know it. Using daylight doesn't mean less bulbs by any means. And the much stronger soft whites can veg pretty damn good. Much better than the smaller daylight bulbs. The ones I showed you vegging were under soft white and were doing well.

And the ones that I have only said it on the package what they were nothing on the bulb. But nothing about the kelvin scale, just daylight or soft white, bright white whatever they are.

interesting. well good to know. thanks man!

anyways, the first plant i chopped is done dryin this morning, so i just finished cuttin it up and jarrin it. dry weight is probly between 1 and 1.5 oz. cant wait till i have a bunch of these jars filled.

also, am now germing five powerskunks and one fem White Widow, which i just planted last night. they were the freebies that came with my blueryder seeds i just recieved.

the first plant is done dryin. weighs out at 36 grams.

for the veg closet, i got my mother plant, i got clones cloning, i got a set of rooted clones under the supposed 3k bulbs and i have a set under the blue grow light, doin a comparison to see which works better.

Your cfl's should be quite a bit better than the tube floro's Are you sure that's a blue light?? HaHa just kidding dude. Do you have any kind of light meter?? One of those cheap multi meters are good for that. And only that IMO. Cost 10 bucks maybe. But very handy to check your light intensity. And just to be clear I didn't say 3k, Just soft white. Look at the difference in the pics from your "blue" light and the others. But those are the 26watt or so cfl's. I know the 42 watt cost more but are well worht it IMO much more useable light. Some kind of reflector would help alot too. Nice little jar of bud you got there dude.

a meter might be worth looking into. ya i can for sure tell the diff from lookin at them. it'll be interesting to see which clones do better. it actually looks like the blue tube is doing a bit better. i used to use only the big 42w cfls when i was starting, but one by one i broke ALL of them. lol. so these are all the replacements i got.

and thanks, i puffin out of the jar right now. the only thing is that most of the bud is fluffy, not very dense. just the big colas are somewhat dense. maybe theyre not completely dry enough? and maybe they'll squish together a bit and dense up when curing? idk

They won't get any more dense when curing. Does the stem snap when you bend it. You probably heard that already though. That's when it is dry enough to put in the jar. A light meter is a very useful tool to have. Broke them?? They cost to much for that. Your tube light does have a reflector on it though. And that is helping, Your cfl's would do better with them too.

im def gonna make a homemade reflector for the cfls. probly just a tin baking pan or somethin. and ya dude, i fuckin wasted sooooo much money on cfls, actually on tons of stuff this grow lol.
