Tip: dont waste your money on mylar! Use solar blankets! I get ten 8x4 sheets for $8! Same stuff!

Tip: dont waste your money on ir blocker! Use poly plastic. Way cheaper! Same stuff!

Tip: if you grow sog style. Clones are your biggest issue! Consider making your own rooting hormone from willow bark!

If you grow hydro. Forget those $200 flood tables! Try a cement mixing tub, or a childs wading pool. Even a storage tote!

If youe use co2, dont waste your time on grow bags or anything else! Its probably a huge waste! You can rent tanks for less than $15/month! Mine come full and 50lbs last a whole cycle!

I could keep going, but I would like for others to share! ANY AND ALL ideas. From power and ventilation, to seeds and cultivation.

Don't waste your money on expensive H.P.S. bulbs with high CRI ratings, I bought a regular 400 Watt H.P.S. from Home Depot and was more happier with it than the EYE that cost $90

Expensive bulbs are a joke imo, however new bulbs are extremely important

Ok I like your post but, I disagree with a couple things, however no biggie.. keep it simple is my philosophy.. No till all organic 2.5 to 3lb plant....

Sorry to be obvious, but all nutes are not created equal...

Some of the cannabis specific companies' lines require so many different bottles the costs get astronomical.

One company that produces complete and reasonably priced nutes is Dyna-Gro.
Google and compare the constituents of various bottles and make your own decision from there.

You ever tried growing a few plants round a bare vertical, OD? I recon with a trellis and plants that size you could use less bulbs for more plants?

I like Fox Farm Nutrients and soil. cost a little but Fox Farm nutrients last a long time than others so it's not that expensive. I get great yields and aroma but I do not use there Nutrients chart, I have a custom one

Yes I do, sometimes but holding fat colas up is my biggest down fall.. this is my first scrog with a trellis

Ok but foxfarm organic dry nutes like the all-purpose 5-5-5 are the best. Grow big and big bud are good, but tigerbloom will burn the holy fuck out your plants.. best suggestion stay organic and FF liquid nutes are not organic

Fuck paint or mylar.. nothing compares to lumens, if you are like me. I can't destroy the house. I leave the paint as is..

When I used FF i did some weird lucas blend which was 7ml of tigerbloom to 14 ml of botanicare bloom it worked ok.... but now a days I would never do that..

Your right but not destroying my house, Hell no. My closet already Flat white so I repaint it, Enough Lumens will grow and flower no matter what refection or no refection, I use almost 9,000 Lumens per Sqft.

Now I will say, I failed to mention the obvious. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Most of the time that is lol... I was just sitting there and I thought about how much people waste on things, not shopping around, thinking of alternatives or for lack of common sense lol.

We all have different methods and out experiences which have led us to be the way we are...

Point being, your gonna do it your way, which is the fun part. I dont care if its one clone in grandmas basement, or a 20 light work of perfection. Share your knowledge...

Ya know I'm a newbie to growing but by no means New to marijuana or the culture...Lol that being said when went through last meeting with agents decided time to change my life and motives..yes as we all have ..I sold pot..but it wasn't to pay bills or to let hobby pay for itself it was for pure greed..I do love money and I did pursue it any risk...needless to say I've been shot, I've seen investments get taken away and destroyed and seized by government officials..lucky for me I'm adhd and have had the honor to learn/train/and fight with an elite group of individuals from good ole Fort Bragg..so unfortunately with knowledge and mental issues I always had 3-4 plans to rely on to ensure safety of myself,my family/team, but never will I risk destroying lives when chose to pursue my objectives.. I've been kissing devil's and fighting angels to long with no repercussion other than loss of property.. having to eliminate my best friend and all money..the entire objective was further than it should have ever reached..while the police department accidentally let my friend out of jail since he sat for weekend and only charged with a minor offense he had pending prior *blessed* he did what we agreed in the beginning..he was going to take the entire fall..I was just a financial partner that knows loyalty and honor..and for him to risk his freedom to come to me and warn me to insure my house was clean firmly wife and son stake..well lets just say it was life changing to know due to me I most likely will never see my friend again..since I live in a very conservative state full of republicans,cartel, dirty cops.its hard to ask or help or recive items safe enough pre paid cards to fake addresses while paying a friend to pay a neighbor to keep a eye out on package while at work tip 1 from me obviously to I never broke this one because like I said I have more variables on plans and safety measures than one can imagine..hints the 10yrs strong while never even spoken to by a cop on the subject..never never send the items or seeds to wherever your growing or intend on being safe..if in illegal state..even till federal I'd recommend .. narc officers play dirty and enjoy ruining lives..however to say the least I had about 2k to start my own personal garden so since friend on a vacation in some other locations learning other culture's I'm learning to grow my own instead of trips across country or renting property's and risking families safety.. I seriously spent all that and more almost lost wife over the hobby and we'll it's been bad ..but I'm 100% supportive of marijuana as medical and recreational and other great uses it provides so my adhd won't let me give up since so passionate over the plant and its what I've seen it do.. I'm barely getting things situated on it and I've built about 20 different systems and have about 3 full notebooks with design blueprints and theories..If didn't shred while cleaning out my office so now I run In a spare bedroom at my house 8/4/6.5 grow tent lol here's the funny part I didn't want to buy the right equipment at first..Lol man I'd been done twice by now but nope not me barely started12/12 on first hydro/aero grow my first was soil.. and lets just say I know that is not for me I'm to attention to detail and need to be hands on for such slow pace of a grow..I'm willing to show anyone pics share my thoughts mistakes few tips that work for me..and hell maybe just a creative idea to solve the puzzle in your head..I'd prefer not give advice but to share experience on what ever the matter..and in a thread so a truly knowledgeable grower can stop myself from misleading or to prevent you from making the mistakes I made or even worse risk your safety,freedom,or equipment I will not give advice on something if I haven't seen the results with my own eyes so mainly I can help with dos and donts with a few what the hell were you thinking idea's... Some may seem seem farfetched or UN realistic or even fantasy..but before anyone jump to conclusions and mis interpret what I'm saying it's that I made countless mistakes on things I know I wasn't supposed to do or trying to modify to make something that should be done or attempted by more skilled personal... Sorry for the long intro and autobiography about myself I just want to ensure to anyone who would like some input or pics or drawings of some plans feel free to ask I promise if its wrong supposed to be a simple task and possibly done from hardware store trying to build own system good chance I've already done it wrong twice..Lol just for new phone I'll see if I can get some pics up of temp systems built and a few mistakes...finally after basically buying a complete system I'm finally broke down and focused on just buying complete systems.. but I'm also a visionist not handyman so I'm sure was operator error for the most part because I understand concepts and physics behind things just difficult for me to perform set tasks at times it's been in my life longer than it hasn't but now instead of focusing on money I'm focusing on giving back I'm currently providing a co-worker all his medicine to help him stop drinking..I fought and won that battle a little under a year ago..so I know repercussions of intoxication and what it can do physically and mentally..I told him I'd pay for him to smoke 2gs a day as long as he's not using it to sell for alcohol money or misuse my offer but to truly better himself then I'd try and support him till he's mentally capable and willing to take a different route.. nothing against alcohol i just abused it which led to hard drugs which led to binge drinking which led me to a ultimatum under 30 divorced,not being able to see his only son.. I took the long way but I'm seeing things a little faster now that I'm using my mind to think for its self for once..again sorry for the long story explaining my flaws or whatever..but I'm high and it it feels good finally being able to admit it to myself and others so I took advantage of opportunity..being this thread about helping figured I'd multi task and remind myself and show compassion to help anyone I can I'm insomniac and always on so feel free to ask anything on here so I can suggest show my experiences with your question..we all after the same goal lets just see how many ways possible to get there...I have 2 big Amazon packages one on way and a cart ready when can afford lol...but my system consists of

Using rockwool, river rocks,
2"&5" net pot
All sorts of extra irrigation supplies and ts or anything connector have boxes of mixed stuff

Led light*green* for hat in case need to do work in there night I have a micro 100x already on the way the silencer clamps to attach fans to trial lol and second order will be a 600 watt to raise to 1k watts and a maybe swap from tube to rectangular reflector I'm not digging the tubes light spand..but this is probably way to much reading already so just ask if interested..

I only do it for hobby too. I keep it very simply, I grow outdoors in the summer time and indoors in the winter. Keeps the indoor grow room cool. Been doing it for 37 Years but i'm an old man now. Plants in Oceanside C.A. can start to flower in July if there Indica and Satvas start to flower in August. I Just post things that I notice or my experience but it might work for me and not someone else. Like JonJon777 says everyone has there own way and my opinion there is no wrong way long as if you are happy with what you grow.

Outdoor I have to keep the plants short because of shitty neighbors, so I start them on Fathers day or beginning of July. It's cool I get 3 to 4 ounces a plant and harvest in October. So F??K the neighbors. I used the same indoor growing methods as I do outdoors except outdoor is planted in a 5 Gal pot and Indoor 2-3 Gal pot depending on wattage used. My grow room is only a small close 2'X3' with 400 watt H.P.S.. and a big window that nobody can see in with a few hours of sunlight blaring into the grow room. You can see a good spectrum with sunlight and H.P.S. Mix, No Mylar just flat white. I'm lucky to have a room like that. I use a regular fan to blow from the window to the grow-room and my house is kept about 68 in the winter. I keep 4-6 plants and each plant yields 3 to 3.5 ounces each plant. Then I used the Easter Buckets and let the water drain in there and after a hour i drain the buckets. I use Fox Farm because I'm old school and once something works to its limits why change it. Never want to change for the worst. I do not use the F.F. feeding nutrients chart, I made a custom one because you will burn the plants. I'm sure there's better nutrients now of days. But Fox Farm does it for me. 50% of the work is from the Genetic, 35% is grow room set up and 15% is growing method. Just keep the grow room clean with lots of lumens and well ventilated and keep the nutrients weaker than what they say. I know it's the cheapest grow-room and nutrients but I do get good yields and High quality. It is hard to believe. I also when the plant first start from seed I just keep it on 12/12 if Sativas 11/13 thought it's plants life to save on electric bill, Its probably good because I do not have the room. I still fill the 3'X2' easily with 4 plants. Plants will start to flower when they are ready. The light no higher than 3 ft, and I support the plant and tie it where the plants get full light. I use no nutrients until the plant starts to flower save even more on nutrients. Fox Farm potting soil takes care of it.

I can't because your wall appears to have some restrictions perhaps go to settings on home page or message me what ever is more convenient for ya Jon and here is two of my very first clones one *green crack* on the left side.. transplanted it from soil to dwc hydro in a 2" rockwool then it rooted in 5" Clayton rocks then transplanted out of there to a fresh rockwool.. she's resilient as Hell she probably should have been smoked however I'm not in a rush at the moment I need to keep my energy focused on completing my system when it arrives then the filter and exhaust..along with lighting and ducting possibly sneak a few small circle leds if watts are enough to make me try them I'm not gonna act like I know about the lighting system because I have probably -5 knowledge on led systems.. wouldn't hurt to mention on thread you might be helping someone else out by asking.. plus one of the way more experienced growers could advise if info is incorrect or if needs to be corrected..also the lady on right is a girl scout cookie clone that I removed from a peat pellet and transplanted to a 2" rockwool... And the smaller plant in front is a blueberry headband clone that was literally dead it seemed also that it looked like a leafless ugly ducking because it was 3 weeks into flowering when cut kinda from my understanding possibly *monster cropping* kinda sent in to a wild Bush since was kinda topped... I figured the absolute worst case scenario I will be picking out some seeds before I smoke...lol unfortunately it won't be my first time. Gotta hate the brick weed but quality and no money for system or smoke this for a bit till mine complete

,1 week prior to pic before this was after cutting 28 clones..pretty fast jump in size.well at least for me it seems like a success.. also this is the blueberry headband 1 week ago the *small front* also that was Only a week growth will experienced growers chime in if seems to be on track..I'm using flora series performance pack at half strength with ppm reading130 blinking x10 is it correctly or am I mixed up somewhere
