Sativas, no amber

Hello,

I've read around a bit on this problem, but I figured id ask about a few specific strains and see if anyone has some direct experience with them.

So, my main question is your typical 'when to harvest'. I've got a few grows under my belt, but I have never had plants lean sativa this hard.

My most extreme examples are a Humboldt Seed Organizations Green Crack that grew (seemingly) pure sativa, and a Blue Dream by the same company that has done the same.

I've been flowering for about 60-70 days, and the Blue Dream still has a while to go. Shes plumping up and still pumping out hairs. The rest of my girls look fat and ready, but have absolutely *no* amber to any of them that I have found. The green crack is covered in trichs, and nearly all of them are cloudy. The rest of my girls are in the same situation, majority cloudy, some new growth has clears, but no amber to speak of.

Oh, and the pistils on all the girls are orange/brown and receded on all the gals except the blue dream. Shes still throwing whites, but all the older ones are brown and orange as well.

Now, I've read that some strains just wont throw amber on trichs. On all my past grows I have had amber, so I have no real experience to draw on to agree or disagree with that haha.

I guess my question is, are trichs the only indicator that I should pay attention to? Or do you take other factors in when they seem to be stubbornly hanging on to the milky stage?

No, some strains aee amber from the start some purple some just cloud.
All the experienced growers i know simply look at the plant. And you know.

Im sorry, not comfortable posting photos I appreciate the reply though. The girls look fat, and the branches I seeded are starting to open up. They *look* ready, based on previous grows, was just curious to see no amber on any of them haha.

No reason to be uncomfortable but its cool.

Id prolly wait a week and note the dif

you got more amber with more blue light

get a blue led veg panel or an mh bulb or some clf`s or induction lamps

or 5 to 20 mins of a low power uvc lamp

They`ll turn orange fast once they get a load of blue light, sativa`s seem to react to blue light more I`m guessing they get less blue light in africa then indicas do up in the kush, but yeah blue light and potassium seem to help, look up RM3`s posts he`s one of the best at getting amber in sativas

The amber is caused by certain terp polymerization and ciclization absorbing light. Red happens to be pretty long.

This has to do with strain terp profiles not lighting.
And never use uvc

You're in the best position to determine if she is ready, aside from the trichs there are the pistils, how the plant looks, how she feels when you gently squeeze a bud.
