sativa getting too tall for light.

I bought those exact hangers.

Lmao, for some reason i ended up using those twisty things that you tie around plastic bread bags hahaha. I used a bunch and they work excellent. I induced flower at about 3 weeks from seed so they wouldnt get too tall. I didnt plan well enough i guess. I didnt think id get a heavy sativa. Thought 4 1/2 feet would be plenty of room. Live and learn i guess.

People can get a BIG surprise at times if they end up with a phenotype that is strongly sativa or if they grow a strain that is predominantly sativa or all sativa for the first time. Some will grow like Jack's magic beans from "Jack and the Beanstalk."

In a run of Lemon Skunk I had two highly sativa phenotype plants that jumped up over 6 times in height while in flower. When that sort of thing happens it's what I jokingly call adventure growing.

Well i super cropped, tell me what you guys think.
That's good. Don't worry, they will look better tomorrow.

I've been growing some Blue Dream and I find it always needs SuperCropping.

More buds to ya ! :bigjoint:

P.S. I use chains and hooks to raise or lower my lites. I have some of those hangers and I don't use them.

I keep seeing people use this term"LST". What does that mean? I know im a newbie:)
Or tying the bitch down.

Using string or pipe cleaners or anything else to lower the fast growing shoots so you have an even canopy.

Used instead of SuperCropping. :joint::peace:

Chains and hooks will work, and have for a long time. But it just takes one time where something slips and you end up with snapped tops and sometimes needing a new bulb.

Before the modern reflector hangers were made, or at least before I ever saw them for sale, I made something out of an old set of blinds ... where when you pull and hold the cord one way you can raise or lower it and when you pull the cord the other direction the one rolling wheel will pinch the cord against the part that doesn't roll and your light then is at that level. I used the parts from an older very large blind that had all metal parts because I did not trust the lighter plastic parts to hold up to the weight, plus it was made for a thicker cord.

Before that I just had two eye hooks in the ceiling with cord running through going to the light and on the wall I had a small cleat, like are used on docks to tie boats off to, and I would loosen the cord from the cleat and raise or lower and then secure it to the cleat again.

That was simple and cheap and it worked great .. as long as you know how to loop the cord to the cleat so it won't slip.

cleats and cord works great. i haven't used them for a good while now but they are well proven and infinitely adjustable. thanks for reminding me BT.

Back in the olden days if you had eye hooks, cords and cleats to raise and lower your light you were in like Flynn.

I am having the same issue with a sativa pheno. I decided to LST it and tie it down instead of super crop. Im excited to see how super cropping it goes.

How much did you get outta your tall plant bagseed? I just harvested a week ago and I got 6oz dry from my 4 footer lol outta my 3 plants, the smallest one got 1 oz and the medium one got 2oz.
That is double what I expected out of my first grow!
