Samsung Q-series strips

here is a report from one of my suppliers with testing of the LM301B diode. I had considered designing a board to use with the LM301B but the numbers were not there for me.

The numbers show 212lm/w fr LM301B compared to 200lm/w for LM561C at a cost increase of 33% over the LM561C.

I stayed with the LM561C until prices drop considerably.
Now on digikey eu the price is exactly the same for the h series and the q series, talking about the 560mm long, I'm going to build my first led light, and I'm thinking of 8 of 3000k stripes, this q series stripes have lot of blue even in the 3000k cct.
Do you guys have more info about the q series? Do you think my build is a good idea? cheers.

differences beetween h and q series I like:
-10 centigrade less on the same size board
-450ma vs 480ma
-up to 225lm/w for the 5000k

The blue is good for the entire grow period. The 3000k should do well. A lot of red in them and the blue will help growth

Hi dnt420!
If the price is identical, I would always take the more efficient ones, so ... the Q-Series, of course!

3000 ° K has enough blue to be used as an all-in-one, but it does not matter if you use LM301B or LM561C, the blue level is almost the same for both! If you want more blue take 3500°k if available.

I don't know if is a considerable difference, but, as you can see there's almost more "20 point of blue"
quoting @robincnn
"Overlapping 3000k ,with 301B the blue peak is higher, red has shifted slightly left (slightly less deep red)".
I still find it a good compromise as a full grow cct. All this to convince myself about what led use.. and in the end I think I'm going with the F series stripes, whichI don't know what led use. The $ / lumen is much bigger with 66€of H-Q stripes I get 12k lumens, with the same amount of F stripes double row, I get almost 30k lumens.
I'm just thinking out loud :D, do you have any info about what leds the F stripes gen3 use?

Ah, forgot you where here for the tang show and tell; ).......... yes diffuse light, just being dramatic, ha ha. I don't think cannabis benefits from it, imagine growing corn under diffusers!? Take all the light they can get, heavy nitrogen feeders, much like our ladies.
Interested in a link to the thread or threads you are referring to if you. I noticed he disappeared for a while but has been back lately, never got a good explanation for his absence...

This is one of them:

https://www.rollitup.org/t/new-school-lights-old-school-strains.872126/ his 390g(150w) grow with low w/ft and crappy diffuse output threw up red flags immediately, some of us where nice regardless, but we knew better:).........unfortunately he brought a lot of baggage from the other forum with him. Banned elephants never forget..........

Yeah, LM561C/3k is probably a ~2950°k while LM301B/3k is ~3050°k, so yes, a bit more shifted to the blue side. Most probably thru a thinner phosphor layer. But not that much...

F-strips use LM561c, which was the powerfulst mid power LED before the LM301b came out. Unfortunately Samsung decided to make a H-Series replacement first when they make the Q-series. So F-series is still the better option in terms of price/watt performance.
