That's how it works. We make friends with the same people who the media says is our enemy. We still have SOA, with a new name. Yet Obama says he's against torture. How can you say such bullshit when we have our own torture and terrorist training "school" in South America? Does Obama really not know? Then he isn't fit for president. Our foreign policy is a big fucking joke. It sides with the powerful at the expense of exploiting everyone else.

LIKE!

Also The Media is the correct term as News is supposed to report events not opinion.... But with Censorship and fear of advertisers money going away, I guess that is why they cater to them. Although, I do not watch the Media so aren't they losing viewers and not getting "other" advertising dollars?
I digress:
The people in Latin America are just like you and I. Few are Bigots and haters, some are genuine and helpful. The only consistent is Government and their self serving agenda. Hence, Obummer trying to use his skin color as an ambassador bridge to sway that government to get on board with the US Tyranny way of thinking. Yet, does anyone know how stubborn a Latin person can be?
Yes, the US Government is a Fucking Joke! A real bad, serious, powerful joke. BEWARE of IT! I was in Mexico last week and talked with 20 or so locals at different times. They all think the US is a Joke and know friends who left beautiful areas to go to America for it's dream B.S and are now stuck in the US as minimum Wage tax slaves....While Mexico enjoyed a 4% growth of their Real Estate, which has only a 60 dollar a year tax on it couples with a modest, 5% income tax.

Obama is a gringo to them. His men were there for prostitutes and that is basically the exploitative attitude of probably the majority of Americans heading south. We are the descendants of genocidal colonialists and while this does not mean we are born guilty, it gives an idea of what other people think about us. Our foreign policy has been exploitative for a long time and they have indicated that compromise is possible, even with Chavez and the Castro bros. We should feel privileged if they invite us to their own peaceful summits and stop trying to dominate everyone and everything. A very common association with colonialism occurs when the drug war is mentioned in the same sentiments with the Falklands and our economic sanctions against Cuba. Yet still they want to be heard and pleading with Obama fruitlessly is not a very good sign of what is to come. Latin American nations share a single culture united by language and history, we ought not to motivate them to unity from a desire to exclude us from their economies. We need to trade with them more then they need us.

Cali,

I admire the sentiment, but the problem is Mexico is quite biggoted. Their country despises foreigners. The penalties for getting caught as an illegal are lots of jail time, especially for their southern neighbors. Mexico will also take away foreign owned on a whim land and give it to citizens.

A better country is Costa Rica. It's the greenest country and their single payer health care rivals Canada's. It's also a beautiful country to look at.

Lol. Please all of you go look up the Monroe Doctrine and realize we were still fully enforcing that through the Reagan admin. Contras , cocaine and so forth right?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monroe_Doctrine

"The Doctrine was issued at a time when nearly all Latin American colonies of Spain and Portugal had achieved independence from the Spanish Empire (except Bolivia, which became independent in 1825, and Cuba and Puerto Rico). The United States, working in agreement with Britain, wanted to guarantee no European power would move in.[SUP][2]"
[/SUP]
Yea Founding Fathers! Imperialist. and the conservatives want to be more like them ? ;) NICE

The fact is we took the Western hemisphere and pushed every other eastern Hemisphere influence out. Forcing a lot of Latin American countries to pay their debts to the Spanish so they would leave. We would of taken Cuba if it wasnt for the Civil War. We fought constantly with Mexican forces as the boundaries of the United States changed. At one time in the middle of the 1900's we had pushed out EVERY DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED LEADER and replaced them with Dictators that would listen to us. That played majorly into Cold War politics and the fear of the spread of red (We would rather deal with a brutal dictator that would listen to us then rather deal with communist countries controlled by the Kremlin in Latin America). We took the Panama canal cause TDR was was in fact trying to look out for the interest of the great Western Hemispherical power of America. Muscular diplomacy and such. He also was a bit racist and saw it as "helping our little brown brothers". Castro also wanted to be friendly with the United States at first but we pushed him away to the Soviet Union (The same thing we did the Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam). Remember the idea of Manifest Destiny and the ideology that we built our country to be the shining example. So before the majority of Latin America caught up with industrialization we would go in and do what was best for the United States because that was whats best for the Hemisphere.

and BTW Brazil is going to be the next big boom country in the Western Hemisphere.

The original leaders of the Zetas cartel were trained in Fort Bragg, NC.
So were all of the Generals of the civil war in Liberia. Trained to go help in desert storm told they were not going right before their deployment date. Government collapses and all American trained soldiers are running the chaos.

I don't get it
Thank you for the honesty. The USA (referred to as pinche gringos) are where the market for drugs exists, drugs endemic to poor Latin American countries. We keep them poor with "Free Trade Agreements" that give advantages to big multinational corporations. We set up puppet right wing regimes and fund rebellions against democratically elected leaders. We impose a cold war era economic embargo against Cuba. So my point is, and this is speculative opinion based on the above stated facts gringo, that maybe the fucking cartels are nothing more than US intel agents sent to keep the brown guys poor.

Yeah you are probably confused a lot, it's ok. Basically, the point I am making, is that the drug war is exporting violence to Mexico. Simply put, that is my problem, the rest are angry utterances that I am sure you want to fixate on and debate and you don't have to like my opinion. The FACT remains, the drug war is not doing the world any good.
