saliva stimulation after smoking

We all know smoking gives you cotton mouth..

But why is it, that immediately after I smoke - like take a bong hit or draw a joint - my salivary flow is stimulated / improved temporarily ? I can actually feel my saliva glands working..

Who notices the same thing ?
Or is it just me ? Cos I have chronically low saliva (xerostomia).

That's just your mouth subconsciously telling you it's ready for something long and hard to slide in.

Lube for my tube.

You mentioned that (i assume) it's been diagnosed and you possibly take medication..

you could always lower your dose. Btw

But yes weed like the rx for this...
will stimulate exocrine glands. sweating , salivary, lacrimal, gastric, pancreatic, intestinal glands and the mucous cells of the respiratory tract.
For example the heart burn feeling from smoking certain strains like a sour or diesel.. Related to gastric production.

while typically smoking cannabis will dry your mouth. Note chronic smokers dont have increased cavities and other dental issues related to low saliva. infact it does give a net increase in production. Also note bi-triphasic effects being heavily dose related..
certain strains and smoking resin will give the most notable effects even causing a humorous drooling if using a bong tilting your head Dow . the compounds causing this have a rather long half life in the body and are less sensitive than thc. this isnt the main focus when discussing thc dehydrating you however. If you notice smoking alit of bud dehydrates the body

Anyway yes normal
