what are your temps? should be ideally 75 but under 85 should be good enough. high temps = stretch
Ah yes, thank you for reminding me. My average temp has been close to 81 with a high of 84 and a low of 78. They say that with CO2 supplementation (which I am using) that a slightly higher temp is recommended. I'll try backing the temp down a bit.

This is a great picture of what not to do the internodes are far too far apart. The only way that i would be happy with a plant looking like this is it was a sativa and then i would not be happy but some strains just grow this way[sativa] that is.Or a mother plant that it does not realy matter how leggy it will get because you can always take the top off.If the lights would have been kept alot closer to the plants top the yeild would be double if not more.Get the lights about 8/12 ince max closer if you have all the right exaust equipment and a good ossalating fan blowing on the hood and bulb to keep the temp down. Then have a seperate fan in the bottom of the g~room blowing the plants around to simulate the wind.Keep the lights close on the next grow and you will see the differance in the yeild you will only have to grow half the ammount that you are growing now to get the same if not more results.

DOn't raise the light, that's only gonna exacerbate the problem.Since they're in flower, the stems are gonna be woodier than they would be if they were in veg, so they're easier to snap.

Thx tyke. I have really good exhaust and cooling so the lights can be really close to the canopy. Right now there are about 12" above. I will see about lowering them some more. The one thing that I run into is that the closer the lights get to the canopy the less light the outer edges of the plants get. I do rotate them a 1/4 turn every day but I'm not sure what a good balance between distance away from canopy and light spread is...

I definitely won't raise them but if the tallest plant starts to grow above the reflector will that cause it to stretch even more?

Ive had plants get to big before.... its a pain in the ass but its deffienatly not the end of the plants life... i pinched the branches just like you did and i done it to alot of the upper branches and this worked for me... i think u made the right choice for now.... but i would still have cut the sucker in two and cloned the top half the plant and put it in sum dirt (dunno if it would work)

Might make that branch start to bend back down toward the light. And you can probably still lst, my point was it's just gonna be a little harder not to snap the branches. You probably should have topped them a couple of times in veg already. Topping them in flower is kinda defeating yourself, IMO, because you're affecting your yield.

Thx Stoney. That's kind of what I was thinking. I'll be more careful in the future.
